port neches middle school 8th grade played in the middle school championship yesterday in college station.scores-gm 1 aledo 32 pnms 24,gm 2 lake travis 42 pnms 29,gm 3 plano 31 pnms 16.this was our first tourn vs teams that have been playing for 2 years and playing 4 to 5 tourns plus league.

that was middle school 7 on 7.

port neches won a hard fought game with orange 4-1.game was tied 1-1 till the 6th.both teams left it all on the field.port neches now moves on to the next round.good luck to the indians at state.

pound for pound groves national gets my vote.they have to compete with groves american for players and play little leagues 2 or 3 times there size.i dont live in groves but have friends there and really respect the job they do.not knocking any other league but ill take the them boys from 'da groves anytime.

to me its a no brainer for anyone lamar offers.get a 5 year scholarship and have brand new facilities.its gonna be electric in 2011.i expect several transfers to start rolling lamars way.

i gave up on these recruiting sites long ago.not a good indicator for future success.lamar has been getting better every year but just a little better.im ready to make that jump to mid-major powerhouse but its going to take time.lamar will only be as good as there big men allow them.brown,nwevo,worell,custer and nabors are the keys to our season.dawkins,mcthay,mahoney,williams,and miles will give us excellent guard play.hall,moten and harper will be servicable on the wings.

they told us at the last cardinal club meeting that they plan on having a reception in june for the new football coach.they would also unviel the plans for cardinal stadium at this reception.

props to sam on a great run in the tourney.going 8-0 the last two years is impressive.lamars nemisis was its jekyl and hyde pitching staff.ive never seen a staff at lu give up some many runs.we would win 4-2 and 7-5 then lose 16-7.it happened all year long.lamar had a good year and actually had a better record than last years team.gilligan has taken steps to resolve his pitching issues and we return several good position players.i think next year will see a much improved team.
