1. Sterling up 22-7 at the half
2. Sterling wins 30-8. It was an awesome crowd. I was surprised to see that many at a Sterling/Lee game again.
3. Sterling up 27-2 after 3
4. Sterling up 15-2 at the half
5. Maybe the truck and cash made Baylor seem more appeasing to the parents. I cant imagine why someone would legitimately want to go QB the Baylor offense ya know. Definitely something fishy going on there....
6. I am so glad our boosters had the foresight to buy him that pickup truck and steal him away from Tech! Hope he can pick up the offense as quick as a money transfer!
7. It helped that Auburn was 6 and dropped after their game and Florida State played USF which was a 10 point game until the middle of the 4th quarter. They don't like to move teams that much in polls unless if something big happened. My Bears looked ugly winning the game, but they still won big. That said I wouldn't have complained if they stuck Florida State or USC over Baylor, they haven't looked good yet. Hopefully Baylor gets it together in the bye week. If they turn the ball over like they did against Lamar then Baylor will lose to the rest of the teams on their schedule minus Kansas maybe.
8. I expect Michigan State to hop up into the top 4 somewhere (over my Bears and maybe TCU) if they beat Oregon. I don't know if Oregon will get into the top 4 if they win, but they may slide ahead of my Bears. TCU lost a starting linebacker for the season and have lost their top defensive end for possibly the season (at least most of the season) after the first game. That is going to be tough on them as they were already starting a lot of young guys on defense and now 2 of their guys with the most experience are out.
9. I was just in Vegas a week ago. The local news was sky high on this guy. Saw an interview or 2 with him and seem liked a well put together guy.
10. I grew up in Liberty. It is unfortunate nothing can be done as it may have led to a better resolution to this problem. 6 months jail and 10 years probation is too light in my opinion for rape. Luckily, I have never had to sit on one of those juries so I don't know what all goes into the sentencing part of that.
11. The rest of your statement I know nothing about. If you say there are cases that aren't tried in that area, swept under the rug, and you live there then maybe you need to get out there and do something about it. I mean you can vote for judges, the DA, sheriffs, and all.... Your final comment I quoted, what do you want Baylor athletics to do? You want them to comment on their players legal situations so you get your news sooner? Pretty sure that is illegal and they will be slammed with violating privacy laws. Not to mention the judge put a gag order on this case which is the main reason very little was heard about this until the conviction happened the other day.
12. By all accounts Peterson called Briles and told him about the kid. There was even an article when Uwacheku was suspended from Boise with Peterson saying he expected the kid to play for him the next fall before he transferred. [Hidden Content] He wasn't kicked completely off of Boise's team. He was suspended from practice in the spring with the expectation he would be back. He would have had his second chance at Boise except Peterson and Uwacheku approached Baylor about a transfer on the grounds of him being depressed, homesick, and suicidal.
13. Guys get second chances all over college football everyday. Some workout, some don't, and a few blow up in your face. This obviously blew up in his face. What makes it a nightmare is some other person suffered because of it instead of a kid just messing up their own life. If Briles knew about the domestic abuse then he should flat out be fired, no reason for that trash to play anywhere. Personally, I doubt Briles knew about the abuse, but he did say he knew about the other stuff. They have had success taking second chances (Phil Taylor, Shawn Oakman, Lache Seastrunk) and they hadn't caused any issues. They obviously need to rethink their policy on taking them now though.
14. It is possible that neither of them knew of the violence with his ex girlfriend. She did testify during the rape trial that she had never reported to police Unless if she lied under oath I would take that to mean no one else knew. Boise did know that he had punched out a window when he was drunk. Stupid, yet not a crime or anywhere close to punching a woman.
15. This is incorrect. A judge cannot take an 8 year sentence and turn it into probation like that. The jury sentenced him to 8 years and probated it (meaning 8 years probation). The judge then upped it to 10 years probation with 180 days of jail time. Like a lot things in this case one thing is being reported, then another thing is being said, few know what actually happened. What we do know is the kid raped some poor girl, he shouldve gotten more than what he did, but at least they did find him guilty of it.
16. well, this is all a big mess. i feel bad for that girl, her life is all screwed up now
17.   Baylor's Schedule - Big 12 + SMU, FCS Team, @Buffalo TCU's Schedule - Big 12 + SMU, FCS Team, Minnesota   Obviously, Minnesota is better than Buffalo, other than that the schedules aren't any different. Unless you want to argue the fact that Baylor gets the luxury of not facing its own offense that rolled up 800 yards on that vaunted TCU defense. I will give you that.   At the end of the year will be a true comparison, but as of now Baylor is statistically head and shoulders the better defense this year. And just for a comparison nationwide, right now Baylor's defense in yards per game is 14th in the NCAA at 322.2 ypg. TCU is 47 at 378.8 ypg.
18. Look at the stats. Baylor's defense is better than TCU's defense in almost every major category across the board.
19. Depends on which poll you use. Last year the Baylor vs OU game was Number 6 vs Number 10 in the BCS poll.
20.
It cost 300, 000 to go to Baylor for four years can'trreally top that
really? 300K? Tuition really went up in the past 5 years from when I was there...Baylor is expensive, but even if he wasn't getting a full ride they pretty much offer merit scholarships to incoming freshman if they are decent students that get the tuition price close to what a state school would cost if you had no scholarships going there... Baylor isn't an engineering school, but I have friends that graduated with engineering degrees and they are all doing well...lot of folks hiring engineers right now you just have to do a bit more work to find a job instead of graduating from an "engineering school"...and if his goal is to go on to some type of professional school or get a PhD then Baylor is a great school for that...
21.
Panther FB field (war Memorial stadium)Right beside the old high school that's now the Jr.High.From Dayton turn left off 90 between the old Lewie Majors store and the Exxon gas station.Go north about 6 blocks and it's there 8)
this is right...but the school that is there now is the pre-elementary school (pre-k through 1st)...they tore down the old high school/ junior high a couple years ago and built a new junior high by the current high school and a new pre-k through 1st school where the junior high was doesn't really matter for directions, but figured i'd share anyway...
22. not that it matters much but you got some scores wrong for this year...lost to clear lake 33-22 and clear creek 33-7... still sad
23. chronicle is saying the final was 33-22... sterling apparantly only had 102 yards of offense...at some point they are gonna have to admit that their offense just isn't working...
24. So much for Sterling improving at all... That was pretty horrible from the Rangers
25. 3 hours til kickoff...Sterling hasn't thrown a pass yet...will be interesting how much that stat changes in then next 6 hours....
