  1. Way to fight back Hawks!!! Show 'em what you're made of in the 2nd half!!!
  2. I know it's not OFFICIALY over & I certainly don't want to jinx yall, but congratulations Silsbee. Great win!!!
  3. Way to fight back Kountze - keep it up.
  4. Like I said earlier, Silsbee in a route!
  5. Yes it does.
  6. Someone mentioned in an earlier thread that they had some major injuries that essentially ended their season.
  7. According to Mapquest, College Park High School is listed in Conroe, not The Woodlands. Can anyone confirm or deny exactly where College Park is located?
  8. IMO, the winner of this game is the region 3 representative in Austin. Yall don't know how badly I want it to be HJ!!! Go Hawks!!! We'll see you in The Woodlands tomorrow night!!!
  9. Not even close between Silsbee & Bellville - the Tigers in a route! However, I don't see a Silsbee-HJ sequel, I think Navasota puts an end to the Hawks season. I agree with the fact that silsbee will beat bellville. . . .but as far as Navasota putting an end to the hawks season . . not likely!! The hawks press will shut down the rattlers. . .why all this hatered toward hj??? is someone still hung up on last year?? Poppa, you and I have been around the block before on a couple of issues. And, up front, I mention that I am from Silsbee and you guys (The Hawks) have already whipped the Tigers pretty good on two occasions this season. Now, my question is, why do you have opinions but anyone else has "Hatred?" I'm referring, of course, to jetski who expressed what I would call his opinion that H-J could have some trouble with Navasota. You, of course, don't agree with his position (opinion) and you fall back on the hatred issue. Where is the hatred in what jetski mentioned? You are talking to PoppaBear Jr, not PoppaBearstarr!!! Just helping clear that up for you Tigersvoice. Anyway, I think wishful thinking is more appropriate than hatred in his prediction; unless Jetski is very well schooled on the miss-matches that the two teams pose for each other. I'm sure Jetski can tell all of us how succesful HJ was this year playing against teams with good big men and how succesful HJ was playing against teams with quick guards!!!!!! Anything can happen in high school basketball, but I would assume noone from Silsbee would want to face a team better than HJ, but there again some may want to play anyone, as long as it isn't HJ!!!! Oh yeah, good luck Silsbee against Bellville. Silsbee by 10. I have read your post. Thanks for straightening me out on who is posting. But, you did not address the issue of hatred versus opinion. No matter now subtlely you put Silsbee down - and on this issue that doesn't matter - you still did not explain how anyone that has any other opinion than HAWKS WIN is espousing hatred. Can you explain that? Thank you "tigersvoice" for being open-minded & realizing what I was saying. All I ws doing was simply giving my OPINION, which like they say, are just like "blank-holes", everybody has one. I guess if your opinion doesn't match what certain others on this site think, then you're "hatin'" on somebody. Grow up people!!!

The hawks press will shut down the rattlers. . .why all this hatered toward hj??? is someone still hung up on last year?? Absolutely not. My gut just tells me that with Navasota's guard play & their size up front, that HJ is in for a real dogfight. I certainly hope I'm wrong and that the Hawks advance.
  11. Not even close between Silsbee & Bellville - the Tigers in a route! However, I don't see a Silsbee-HJ sequel, I think Navasota puts an end to the Hawks season.
  12. I can predict that if HJ comes out sluggish in the first half like they have been doing lately, their season will come to a screaching hault.
  13. Great game OF! You guys kept it closer than most people thought. Great effort - please don't hang your heads. Hopefully HJ can put the Navasota beast to bed!
  14. OF, I have become your biggest fan! Take care of Navasota to somewhat avenge the screwing your girls team took!
  15. Uh-oh!!! I hope HJ isn't looking past Sweeny.
  16. I wasn't at the game so I can't give a definitive explanation as to what actually occured, but as to what I'm reading here, this sounds like a horrible injustice against OF by this referree. If what I am reading is true, all I can hope is that his actions are reviewed by his superiors & if it is determined that his actions actually affected the outcome of this game that he no longer be allowed to officiate basketball on any level.
  17. Don't forget Navasota!!!! They have to play either Sweeney or Smithville first. Yeah I think Navasota will be their biggest roadblock in trying to get to Austin.
  18. I agree with setxslam, HJ will certainly have their hands full with Navasota. It wouldn't surprise me @ all to see Navasota win, but I certainly hope not. You don't ever want a loss going into the playoffs, but as setxslam was referring, Silsbee will have an easier go of it in the first couple of rounds in the playoffs. IMO, region 3 is the toughest in the state & your state champion will come from this region. HJ, Navasota, Silsbee & Crockett will be battling it out to go to Austin.
  19. Surely you guys will be broadcasting this one huh?
  20. I hope Gulf Coast will have another pre-tournament this year. They really put on a good one last year.
  21. Is that the old airplane hangar?
  22. Same story last night as when HJ played WOS - too many turnovers & too many missed free throws. If HJ doesn't start focusing more on these things they won't have to worry about playing a tiebreaker with Silsbee for the district title.
  23. It looks like ours may be headed that direction. I heard the numbers for all divisions is WAY down.
  24. PONY at age 9 - 10 gives the individual league the option to lead off or not.In my particular community the PONY league is much more competitive than our local LL and they choose to lead off.Their mentality is it prepares the select few for allstars.Instead of making it a positive experience for the whole group of kids. We have a lot of kids that quit baseball between the ages 10 and 11. I feel it's because at the 9-10 yo level they get beat up on by a few strong teams that just steal bases at will and run up the score. There are kids at 9 and 10 that do very well with leading off and holding runners on. But the majority of the kids do not and it becomes a field day on the base pads. Coaches run up scores by walking and stealing home. This is not how it should be done.I'm a huge PONY supporter ,and believe if done the right way is a very good program. But do agree that at the 9-10 yo should not lead off unless the more competitive teams are separated.I do think that coaches and parents are putting too much emphasis on competitiveness at 7,8,9,10 years old and when it starts to matter and the kids start actually developing they fall off because we've pushed so hard at early age. That's all our local league is concerned with is All-Stars. And since we're from such a small community with such a small pool of kids to pull from, our All-Star teams VERY RARELY ever get out of this area. It's usually two & out. My kids make All-Stars every year & I think this infatuation with All-Stars is crap. Yeah a lot of our kids here also quit by the time they turn 11.
