Little League takes this one. As previously mentioned, it comes down to pitching & leading off. What sense does it make to take a 9 year old kid who is just starting to learn the mechanics of pitching and then turn around and ask him to learn how to hold runners on? These kids have little control at this age and asking to them to throw strikes is hard enough, so making them also concentrate on a base runner is idiotic. This is what PONY does.

When yall are talking about suspensions, I hope you are referring to being suspended or expelled from school & not just basketball. I don't know what fighting @ school gets you these days, but what took place Friday night, the punishment needs to be a lot more severe. As for the basketball side of it, the guilty parties need to be kicked off their respective teams.

I was going to give Silsbee just a slight edge in this one with Burrell out, but after Fridays happenings I'll say HJ by 10. Even if no one from Silsbee is suspended for this game, you have to think they are going to be on their best behavior & playing somewhat apprehensively.

A much easier time than what the boys had. Congrats Lady Hawks.

HJ should feel very fortunate. I listened to the game here & West Orange really gave HJ all they wanted especially in the third quarter. If HJ doesn't start protecting the ball better & making their free throws, not only will they lose to Silsbee, they run the risk of losing to Orangefield & losing to Jasper.

The 9th grade plays @ 1:00, the JV @ 2:30 & the varsity @ 4:00.
