Hardin by 3 touchdowns. We haven't had any problems scoring this year but also have given up some points. Against West Hardin, we got tired and lazy in the second half and gave up a couple senseless td's but still routed them, and now we've had two weeks to get better. Hardin scores all night easily.

Nice game Hornets! Got a little lazy/tired, but still hung in there and put 53 on the board. Game cleaned up a lot in the second half, both teams showing good sportsmanship. Good luck to West Hardin the rest of the season. -

14-0 Hardin, too easy so far. West Hardin trying to get dirty now, bad face mask and a late hit all the way out on the track. -

Does that mean Hardin will kill EC, I doubt it. So you just never know :)
Can't argue with that...
But for the record Anafanatic, I don't want any of Anahuac right now! :) -

I don't know about 28, but i believe Hardin wins. The boys showed a lot of guts in Tarkington, never giving up and going 100% till the end. Tarkington was no slouch, they showed an equal amount of spirit and talent and suffered what had to be a heart break of a loss. Tarkington will win some more games this year, they beat a Huntington team that killed Liberty. But, this is also a rivalry game where anything can happen, so good luck to both teams! -
heck of a back and forth game by both squads, horns took lead inside a minute and hornets roared back with i think 39 seconds on the clock. it was odd that clock was down to 35 seconds after horns scored but reset to 39 before kickoff, it could have gone either way at the end, very exciting for fans. personally i would have liked to see the horns hold on, they showed their competitiveness and they've got a great leader there.just trying to figure out woho had their ball. hats off to the hornets for making the play when it absolutely had to be made. horns will get better by the week, won't be in the cellar as so many predicted.
Not weird, 38 seconds on clock when they kicked, Hardin kid basically called a fair catch then dropped down on the ball. Clock doesn't start till the ball is touched. Still a great game though, Tarkington's offense will give you some fits, it became a game to us in the stands trying to figure out who had the ball. -

Hardin wins 34-30! Two seconds left on clock, Hardin completes a 35 yard pass in the end zone for the win. Great game by both teams! -

Tarkington impressive on offense, Hardin can't seem to figure out who has the ball. Tarkington with a lot of misdirection, Hardin better make adjustments quick. -

Great game Hornets! Could have been worse if Hardin had wanted it to be. Hardin's reserves only gave up two touchdowns, maybe we have a little depth this year. Tough, tough district though. -

And don't get me wrong HD55, I'm not saying Hardin was spectacular, they still have a lot to improve on also. -

HD looked terrible against hardin, better improve a whole lot this week in order to have a chance -
Neither team looked great during the 20 play, offense/defense set. Kelly did have two nice deep passes that Hardin blew the coverage on. Kelly scored twice to Hardins one. During the "game" set, Hardin was much better. Kelly never got past the 40 on offense, Hardin scored once and should have scored a second TD, but Kelly turned it up on the goal line and had a nice stop. Hardin had the time of possession win, they had the ball at least 3/4 of the two 15 minute quarters. No doubt it was a first scrimmage type game, both teams have improvements to work on.

Liberty Panthers next season

We hope the best for Liberty, maybe they can get it together this year. The same for Hardin, we're gonna be small on both sides of the ball, hopefully we get real mean over the summer. -
Here are my predictions for the race to the inaugural 10AA championship!! 1)Newton 7-0 - reload every year 2)Anahuac 6-1 - Albritton, Johnson & Mitchell too much for Jones & Co. this season 3)EC 5-2 - see above 4)Woodville 4-3 - almost appear to be in the same district / situation? 5)Buna 3-4 - big & tough, but not fast enough 6)Kountze 2-5 - can't score td's from the "top of the key" 7)Hardin 1-6 - may have fits with the Warriors 8)Warren 0-7 - make it happen Only thing I disagree with is Kountze ahead of Hardin. Everything else looks pretty accurate. Hopefully Hardin can get the offensive line going, our achilles heal last year, and improve this year. Should still have some good speed, a tough QB, and some good receivers. The biggest issue is stopping the run, didn't do it at all last year. We'll see! Good luck to all teams in this new district!!!
With better play calling. That offense struggles to move the ball down the field, due to a lack of knowledge and discipline. Special teams gets overlooked, and there are many small mistakes. There's lots of room for improvement. Never take your best athelete off the field is another area I can't understand. It's mind boggling, that the atmosphere is dead. I'm not sure if the mentality has changed, after AP, and EC games or what but this isn't the same team I saw play at the beginning of the year. Maybe I expect to much, i suppose they are okay. Just like to see some changes.
Here's my take on things, the last two games for Hardin have been blowouts that could have been worse if Haynes wanted it to be. But he won't do that, when he gets a lead or it's obvious the win is inevitable, he changes his game plan and tries some different things. As far as taking your best athlete out, he is still very bothered by that ankle, it's one of those injuries that just won't go away. I agree though, it was kinda dead last night, but I bet next Friday won't be!
