[Hidden Content] Just putting this on here for all to see, surely you all have read the multi page outline of the complete bond breakdown. This is just a summary. By the way i am voting yes. James has a problem with the 1.7 million Pressbox, i have a problem with the 1.3 million injury prone Field Turf. Whether you vote yes or no please look at the big picture, not just one item. James may be right that the right people will show up to vote and pass this thing, but look out if the old school population shows up in full force.
-
Chill. Ok lets say we spend $200,000 on the pressbox. Bond pass? I don't think so. The gravy i am referring to is the Field Turf, nice but not needed and i think this will be the road block on the Bond. As far as 2 people up there at Soccer games maybe they could just put a tent up on the stands and they could run it from there. ;D
-
Have to disagree with you on this one James, in typical Nederland fashion it will take someone to get injured before the Pressbox is rebuilt. It is in very bad shape. If it gets rebuilt it will need a elevator. If the restrooms get rebuilt they will need to be A.D.A. approved. There supposed to be separate quarters for the referees to be able to change and shower. How about a actual locker room for the players. I for one could care less for the Field Turf, i think it only adds to injuries, ACL, MCL, etc. Now on the "only 5 home games a year" subject that is a Varsity Football Statement. You know that Central , C.O. Wilson, Freshmen, J.V., Soccer, Track, Westerners, Band all use that same Pressbox. I really have a problem with that one sided comment and i am sick of hearing We only have 5 Home Games. Are you really going to stick with that. Its called a community and we all use it. You for one should know better. As all Bonds go there are going to be some needed items and some gravy items. My guess is this Bond will be voted down then they will regroup cut the fat and it will pass, just like the last one did. Talk around town is everything hinges on the Field Turf, i believe if they would take this off the Bond it would pass with flying colors.

As far as i know Vidor is the only team in the area that releases their Varsity Baseball Players from Football. Houston is different than us. We have several multi sport athletes that go thru football drills during the day and compete in their sport after school. This is not a crutch or excuse just as a example. It will be interesting to see if P.N.G. Baseball Players get released from Football Spring Training, it will start for them at Baseball Playoff time. On another note, was that a new American Flag i noticed at the Baseball Park? Its nice to see the Baseball Field received something off that Bond. ;D

Nederland has been doing this for years so get used to it. This is what happens when you bring in a out-of-towner Coach that the School Board doesn't control. Football is #1, everything else is just gravy. How about some Camp Fun to go with your vigorous workouts? Please do not respond with "Whats Camp Fun?" You will show your ignorance. Guaranteed P.N.G. is not working any harder on Football than Nederland is, but if it makes you feel better you can think that.

Is there any chance the Dogs might be that good? Just a itty bitty chance? Only time will tell. I like our chances. -
Seems like i remember a person from Nederland mentioning Jacob Felts last year. ;D. All State Sophomore year. Look up Team Player in Dictionary, there you will find a portrait of Jacob.

His name is Kellogg and has relocated to B.C.. He has a perfect 10 score on www.perfectgame.org which means he could be drafted out of High School. To get a 10 as a Junior is rare. Thats how good he is. He is from DeQuincy, La. Bridge City is now considered a Magnet School. ;D

Word on the street any Student that brings a board is going to Alternative Campus for 3 weeks. Wow, lets send our best students to prison over a marker board and some cute, clever t-shirts. Expect extra Security there, that we are paying for, we have to have enough security there to pick up those boards man. I do not remember a sign on the door of the gym that stated "No Marker Boards", you know like "No Smoking" or "No Pets Allowed". Seems like our system is failed, are we worried about having a home court advantage or what. We can no longer all get together and say a prayer in the middle of the gym floor and we can no longer communicate with marker boards. I am proud of these kids, they are hurting no one. They are honor society, student council, athletes, band member kids; trying to pump up their Basketball Team. Whats the harm? New sign that reads " Leave Your School Spirit At Door " would be more appropriate. Everybody should sit on their hands tonight and do Yoga chants, Hmmmmm. That may be considered gang activity, scratch that. Go Dogs ! -
S ;)orry but you left way to early. It really got windy.
-
You talk about intimidating, how about the old Lincoln. That balcony with all the students up there yelling, was a hard place to play, you were beat before you showed up for the game. My view on this subject is: They take away the marker board come up with something else, there should be students thinking up things to do right now. Make our gym what it should be, a home court advantage. How about some of that Duke yelling during free throws, bring white towells and wave them, make signs beforehand with opposing numbers on them and maybe a little sarcasm next to it. Counting on the student body here to come up with something.

Is baseball the toughest physically to coach?
9Doggies replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
No comparison, Baseball is the toughest. 1 hour of B.P. , 1 hour of Fungo, Bullpens, 30 minutes Field Prep, 10 Minute Speech, Supper, Beer and a bag of ice for my rag arm, a few minutes with the family and off to bed. Get to do it all again tomorrow. Not enough assistants, Football has a coach for every position, Inside Linebacker and a Outside Linebacker Coach, come on? Wouldn't be nice to have a Pitching Coach, Infield Coach, Outfield Coach, Hitting Coach and a Manager to run it all at the Varsity level. Sub Varsity having at least 2 Coaches instead of 1 to build a program. What am i thinking, this is Southeast Texas, never going to change. Nice to dream though. Oh by the way the Fans are within a ear shot, ever call or decision is heavily scrutinized by the 9 million Dad Baseball Coaches in the stands. It also pays the same as other sports. You got to love the game or love helping kids get better to do it. -
Thanks Blue. Umpire shortage or a bunch of new ones?
-
Orangefield, if they can cut out all the errors that have plagued them and find one more reliable arm i can see them making to the playoffs. Their going to have to upset some people to get there. Look out for Felts behind the plate he will shut the running game down ( one of the best junior catchers in the nation ) and Statum at the plate if he gets on go ahead and put a run on the scoreboard. Both these guys where also the main pitchers last year. They will need some help on the mound.
-
Are we going to have enough Umpires ready for Tuesday's Scrimmages across the area? Any new ones that have not been harassed yet? I've seen a lot of them going to black uniforms, does this mean we can no longer call them "Blue". Example: " Hey Blue is that your seeing eye dog tied to the fence"? What is the reason for the black uni's?
-
Prozac is on the top shelf right in front of the " I've got something to say but don't know if i can capsules" or in liquid form the "Beat around the bush and stir crap up bottle". Let the kids play ball, lets the Seniors have a year to remember and lets keep all this B.S. to a minimun. geez!

Talk about a bad dream i awoke to Klein. I must admit i watched 2:44 before i dosed off again. Beating a dead horse, oh yea. I did find some humor in it though, once i could swear that i seen Klein raise his hand, pick me, me,me, come on, dog gone it i lost my turn. Only thing else we needed was a Nun with a ruler. Kudos to rest of the crew i think they did a good job especially James Ware. -

Thanks for the history lesson. Your knowledge makes me think that You have your Master's. Please apply. Thanks. Chester A. Arthur, became US President after the assassination of James A Garfield. There was some fear that Arthur would start a trend back towards the Stalwart form Republicanism in his administration. Instead he pushed for civil service reform as president.
