Scoring struggles have been a common theme in Lumberton for last 10-12 years. Good on the Raiders for using their athleticism to play some great defense, defense wins big games!

Any information on this? Heard of any applicants yet?

Coach Mitchell always does a good job getting his players to play hard. I heard Lumberton is really athletic right now too, buddy told me they had 4-5 guys that could dunk right now. Has to be a first for a Lumberton team having that many athletes at one time, because they usually lack in the athleticism department.

Yeah I saw the scores, but have not had a chance to catch a game live. Sometimes low scoring can be caused by holding the ball on offense not just from great defense. That is why I was asking because I remember the stall tactic against Silsbee a few years back was wondering if they were still doing that or not to keep scores this low.

Tatum gave Kountze all they wanted, and I think Silsbee is better than Tatum. I would take the Tigers -6 in a matchup against the lions.

I will be pleasantly surprised if Evadale finishes second in district this year. The coach from last year left and it looks like the new coach is the assistant girls basketball coach, so I doubt he has much time to work baseball leading up to the season. If the girls program is as good as they usually are he will be late getting out there to start baseball, hopefully he can get them ready though in a short time.

I hear Danbury is going to be pretty solid in 2A. If Big Sandy and Evadale were still the baseball programs they were for a stretch there that would be a fun/competitive baseball district.

Wow, thought they would make some noise in that region again this season.

I doubt they would want to be in the 4AD2 district either, would probably just opt back up like some of their other district comrades.

That is a really odd matchup, Saratoga vs Dallas.

Lumberton should be battle tested and ready to go for this one with their tough non-district schedule.

Is she leaving after the semester? Or just in the middle of the school year? Maybe I am unaware of how hiring of superintendents work, but won't it be difficult for Buna to find a replacement right now?

Maybe with it being a new thing they did not get in on it in time. I like the league, maybe next year they will get more teams interested if it becomes an annual thing.
