Now don't get me wrong, they should've covered the HJ Silsbee game but there are more subscribers in Ned PNG and that helps them sell papers. Its a business that a lot of people think is slowly dying so anything to sell more papers. And I dunno about Silsbee but Nederland did beat HJ by 16 already this year so how could we not hold HJ's jock? Shouldn't they be holding ours then?

Im not saying the refs were in favor of anyone. They did a great job. I just don't think Abel should worry about them as much as he is and sshould coach more. He has done quite a bit with his talent so I don't think he should be fired yet. He deserves at least one more year.

Lumberton seems to have some talent, they just have never learned how to win. They always seem close but they just seem to be on the losing end. Great win pirates.

Great game for Nederland. Excellent in all phases of the game. Very proud of the guys. Keep it up and lets go get to more big wins next week. I want to comment on coach Abel. I like the man. He is great guy and always treats everyone with respect. But last night I really didn't like some of his coaching decisions. The entire night all he was doing was complaining to the officials that Nederland was traveling before they started to dribble towards the basket when Weathersbee did it everytime he touched the ball in my opinion. Also, After the second quarter when PN-G's 1-3-1 defense was getting absolutely no turnovers and giving up open shot after open shot and some lay ups for Forney inside I thought he would change the defense yet he stayed in it. Nederland was killing them with a great look everytime down the floor and it was putting them out of rebounding position. Then late in the second half only down ten they decided to extend their defense which gave up a wide open 3 and to layups in their first three possessions. Then he decided not to foul. Francis is the only real 75% ft shooter they had on the floor yet he just let Nederland run out the clock. I just thought you had to switch defenses because the 1-3-1 was not working and foul to extend the game. Very questionable decions. I'm not saying fire the guy just not a well coached game at all.

Silsbees is better I think is the general thought on this forum. However, it only takes 5 so HJ's best 5 are conditioned enough to play basically the whole game and are probably just as good as Silsbees in myopinion. The benches really won't play a big part unless the refs call a tight game. But I cant wait to see who wins tonight so we can settle all these discussions at least for a couple weeks!

Well Brubaker I would normally say you are right but if you knew how inconsistant this Nederland team is you might think that is exactly right. Plus they aloways play PN-G well. BTW, PN-G beat Nederland twice with Coach English. Once in Nederlands tourney like previously said and in the consolation of the Orangefield Tourney. But they have lost all five times in district and I think tonight will make it 6.

Silsbee comes out with a hot start then Shannon hits a pull up jumper at the buzzer and goes into the half up by eleven. Then HJ makes a couple of minor adjustments at the half. Meanwhile in the Silsbee locker room all proud of themselves thinking the are about to blow out HJ big. But with the big-head Silsbee suffers early in the half and HJ starts with a 7-0 run. So down four, it becomes a slugfest. Back and forth both teams are hitting tough shots and with 4 minutes left the game is tied. Both teams get some key stops but cant capitalize on the other end. And with about 30 seconds left Robinson drives the lane but misses the shot! Oh wait! Who is that? It is Hill for the put back bucket. The Hecklers are stunned! HJ calls timeout now down two with 19 seconds left. The draw up the final shot for Jarvis. Jarvis gets the screen from Turner at the top of the key. The whole defense collapses on him and he finds a wide open trey in the corner. Trey shoots and nails the trey at the buzzer and the hawks win! Hawks win! Hecklers storm the court everywhere and Silsbee is left in sorrow! Sorry I just looked in my crystal ball and thats word for word what it told me. I apologize again for ruining the whole thing for you. Im just psychic. If you don't want to go to the game now cause you know how it ends and want to go to the Nederland game and root on the dogs you are more than welcome too. Haha ;D ;D ;D

He is good but he for sure isn't T-Mac yet. He still needs time to develop a little more. Is outside game could be better. And he is very iffy on defense. Wafer has a great mid range game though. But as far as him being T-Mac? Come on! Rick Adelmon said he was the last guy to even make the team! Great surprise but not T-Mac. At least not yet.

I don't think A&M is a tournament team this year. NIT is where I put them. And Texas still needs a go to scorer in the clutch they can rely on. They don't have that one guy you give the ball too down one where you think he is going to score.Abrams can't get into the lane well enough. Mason can't shoot well enough. James was good last night but is to inconsistant. Until they find that guy on their team I don't see them getting past the sweet 16 at all.
