1. Awe!! Big red360 and JJWooten just bonded!!!! How sweet! ;D
2. Its hard to be accurate passing when you can't grip the ball.
3. Saw on the news that for the white team it was all Tremel. He had 31 points and led all scorers. The black team was led by Vicenzo and Coy both with 21. Brandon Davis had 11 with 3 three pointers. Also they made several comments about how they actually hit 3s which is an area they really needed to improve.
4. 4th season. Had are first senior class. Also its iffy that we played actual soccer that first year. 0-18 record and it wasn't even that close.
5. Went to the 1st half of the scrimmage. LU jumped out to a 14 point lead early but let St. Marys go on a 20-2 run (They were shooting lights out.) and took the lead. LU came back and led at half by 2 I think. Taylor Hays and Frenchie didn't play. Frenchie said she tweaked a hamstring but she will be ready during the season. Not sure what was wrong with Taylor. What I took from the first 20 minutes is Jenna is an even better leader than last year. Also, she had a couple NBA deep 3s. Mo Whittaker is very talented and will take over for Darika nicely. Dani Heithoff is to soft to play backup center. We could use a better option behind Trae Smith. Ang Green was great on defense slowing and stopping their PG. Also was very surprised how tight of rotation Tidwell and Wells ran. Jenna played the entire half and the 4 subs that came in (Jas Henderson, De Anna Patterson, Danielle Heithoff,  and #12) played limited minutes. I would normally expect all players getting minutes and being able to fight for playing time but didn't see it in the first half. All in all it was a C performance from the Cardinals. Not much intensity after coming out hot but looked great early. Several missed open layups and sloppy defense. We should be fine this year though.

He is smallish 6'0, 194 lbs but I've seen smaller at the FBS level. Then look at all that he accomplished at SLC. Part of his bio. at UNT; : Passed for 3,445 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2007 … Carried 131 times for 772 yards (5.5 average) and 13 touchdowns … Was named to the 45th annual 2008 PARADE All-American High School Football Team … Was recently selected to the EA Sports First Team All-America Multi-Purpose squad for 2007 … Was the 2006 and 2007 Gatorade Player of the Year … Shared Texas Sports Writers Association 2007 Class 5A All-State Football Team Offensive Player of the Year honors … Was named to the Texas Class 5A All-State team for the second straight season. He knew the system his father was running at UNT so a lot of people thought he would start from day one at UNT. You can count me as one. Then he recruited others. Chase Baine 6'0, 210 lbs out of Lake Dallas HS. John Dodson, 6'0, 195 lbs out of Bishop Lynch HS. Derrick Teegarden, 6'0, 177 lbs out of Odessa HS. Derek Thompson 6'4, 220 lbs out of Glen Rose HS and Nathan Tune, 6'4, 226 lbs out of Celina HS. Another aspect of recruiting a QB at North Texas was the fact Riley Dodge was on campus and is the son of the Head Coach. Honestly, if I'm a QB recruit under those circumstances I probably would not have signed with UNT either. Human nature, a QB recruit would have to prove being a lot better than Riley Dodge or the coaching staff would start the Head Coach's son. Just my opinion as to why more top tier QB's didn't sign with UNT under Coach Dodge's watch.
Riley is a good "low level FBS" quarterback and I'm thankful he's at UNT.  But, the fact is, even with all his high school awards, accomplishments and accolades, Univ of Texas originally recruited him as a defensive back. Riley de-pledged UT when his dad took the UNT job.  He reshirted(medical) his freshman year, then played wide receiver until he got hurt in the Rice game of '08. Thompson is the only legit QB, along with Vizza that Dodge recruited.  Nathan Tune was a walkon under during the Daryl Dickey days  Teegarden is a wide receiver and will probably never play QB at UNT. to be honest, there is some truth to having a highly touted QB, who happens to be the coache's son, plying QB.  Could have scared off some good ones. I hope Rile stays healthy since we have him for two more years.  He's a fighter.
I thought UT recruited Dodge to play WR with his SLC teammate Tre' Newton in the same class. As for as Riley Dodge finishing out his college career at UNT, it depends on where his father lands. If he is at a FBS school Riley will probably stay at UNT as he has already red-shirted (medical) once in 2008. If he (Todd Dodge) were to go to a FCS school, I can see Riley transferring and playing either WR or QB.
Riley has already publicly stated that he will stay at UNT regardless of what his Dad does.  He  likes UNT and is committed to staying there  Papa Dodge intends to be at the UNT games as a fan.  He went to the Western Kentucky game as a fan.
I promise Riley isn't going anywhere. He loves it up there.
7.
They lost a lot of early games, but they did keep it interesting with South Alabama, only losing 39-34 and it was in Alabama. Lamar has the unfortunate opportunity to play in the Georgia Dome. I do see Lamar keeping it interesting, but I'm going to have to go with the trend and say that Lamar loses this one too. SoGA 28 Lamar 14
Its Ga St. JJ but im close to you on my prediction. I say 24 - 14 Ga. St.
i just really don't think we're gonna be able to stay focused this year. i go to school with all these kids and they just don't have what it takes to repeat. just tryin to be real
I'm just curious as to what you mean by the "focus" comment. Classroom or remaining focus during a long season, too cocky?
I think he is saying players don't have basketball as their top priority. Don't agree with him at all but we shall see... And I dont call them cocky I call them confident.

I know all the seniors pretty well and completely understand the focus comment. But you dont think coach English is good enough to keep them focused enough to be beat Lumberton or Vidor?? No way...
10. First chance to see how improved they really are. I know only against ourselves but I want to see some players step up!
11. I see. Still think coach wise will be reloading not rebuilding. Also can't wait to see Ball in the nederland tourney. Hope we play them. Should be a good test to see how good we are.
12. Defense better get a lot better and more intense. That's how we won games last year.
13. I still don't think anyone beats Nederland or Ozen. Central and LCM will be fighting for 3rd.
14. how far will Yates get this year? After being national champs they aren't getting any respect IMO.
15. Doubt he gives it to Dodge. If he gives it to anyone it would be Major Applewhite.
16. What has Daniels been doing since he left Lamar? Playing in Europe?
17. Agreed with JJ. Unless he wants come for a hometown discount. But maybe he will want to come home for a couple years. Who knows.
18. As long as he protects the ball I'll be happy. Hope they actually go through with starting him.
19. I have heard of them several times but never seen them play. I knew this would be a tough game but I still think we can and will win it
20. And a great reward for the four seniors who have been here for the worst of times.
21. They need Nicholls, who is winless, to tie or beat UCA on Sunday to get in the tourney.
