  1. Thanks mffl. I don't like to get real excited about recruits but these 2 have the most promise in awhile.
  2. I think we do need a jolt of energy into the program just don't know how we should do it.
  3. I'm sure he would be great here bt there is no way Gilligan gets fired in the next two years. And he will probably have a better job than Lamar by then.
  4. We have any confirmation on these guys? I hope so. But I would like hear Roc say it or see some kind of legit proof before I get kind of excited.
  5. I agree but I don't think they are that far down yet. We finished third last year. Yes we are having a bad year this year. But we are still consistently a top 4 team in the conference and really that is all we have ever been. I would personally agree more if you said coach G would not be able to take us to the next level. That's what Lamar should strive for. Strive for a perrenial regional team. And occasional super regional. I don't think Gilligan could ever lead us there. Just keep us on the upper level of the SLC which isn't much.
  6. Nederland vs. Ozen. Will they let Kirby try for a third no hitter?
  7. Well I was just going by the roster sheets they passed out at the game. I understand what you're saying now. Either way we never should have lost those 2 games.
  8. Baseball25, HBU now has 10 wins this year. Not 4 like you said. Still not any good but I was just saying. And I know 3 or 4 of the pitchers used Wednesday have a combined innings pitched total of less than 3. So I know they weren't were they should be at the point in the season on the mound. The problem is the bats. 5 runs in the last 3 games won't cut it at any level. And 2 of those games were against pitchers who could barely hit 80 on the gun. That better change quick. Or we will be watching the Southland tourney.
  9. When I said everyone got to pitch I mean everyone. Ryan Meade pitched the 9th. He is our first baseman got his first IP of the year.
  10. 9 to 4 in the 7th. HBU ahead. Everyone is getting a turn for Lamar
  11. Giants playing pepper with that left field wall
  12. Tommy Roebuck started today and got hit real hard. 3 runs in two innings. Had two hard hit balls that turned into double plays that helped him out. Our bats are still lost somewhere. 3 to 0 HBU after the third.
  13. Lumberton has lost several close ball games this. They have to pull all those games out.
  14. I can agree somewhat with that critter. But I don't agree that is the case with Ford. He starts almost every Tuesday game and has thrown nearly 20 innings this year. That is close to the top for the bullpen guys.
  15. Gametime today has been moved to 3 pm cause of incoming rain. I hope someone tells our bats. Not defending anyone but HBU played great defense. They had 4 diving catches in the outfield. I was impressed. Still no excuse to get shut out.
  16. Huggins just knew without him he had no shot at keeping it within 20 against Duke.
  17. I also think it has to do with members of this forum as well. We have quite a few members from the 19-4A district like GCMPats and the whole Dayton crowd. So it makes sense to include them on the polls to keep their posts coming. Also I agree showing the small schools some love with a small school poll like the basketball forum. It only seems fair.
  18. I called it! Two runs!
  19. Just curious as to what everyone is expecting from the team in the spring game? Players to watch? How much hitting will we see? Any weaknesses heading into the game?
  20. BC wins relatively easy 8 to 3. WOS simply isn't on BC's level IMO.
  21. Great matchup tonight! Astros will be lucky to get 2 runs across tonight
