Turnovers killed the Dogs but the big story is that Raines came of age tonight.  He got in a groove in the fourth quarter and BH could not stop the pass. BH played well at home but the stats tell the story of the game. Not too woried about the Dogs in 20-4A. they should be fine.

Nederland offense should look much better this week with another week under Raines (new sophmore qb) belt. He has some good weapons and they did score 3 TDs against WOS who has the most solid linebacking core I have seen in a long time. I think the Dogs defense is better than what they showed. The big plays killed them but alot of that credit goes to the Stangs Offense. They have a ton of speed and good execution on offense. GCM will not be as fast or athletic as the Stangs but the defense is going to have to make a statement this week. I agree with 19Bulldog99 that the offense has not been the problem in the last few years but I still stick with my earlier statement that the Dogs D, although youthfull is better than the previous years past. Anyway, Im going with the Dogs in this one. 31-21

Nederland wins in a tight one.

Nederlands defense looked pretty solid. A few busted plays. Their tongues were dragging the whole second half. They had no break at all. Daytons defense is very good but Nederland had receivers open all night. The offensive line made some good adjustments giving big boy some time and he just could not find the open guy, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT... Overall Dogs will be OK. Dayton....real deal!

That is the calmest I have seen Dan Hooks since I first ran across him in the late 80s. He is moving around pretty slow. I guess I am just used to him being in the middle of the field screaming at the refs. I guess everyone mellows a little, even old Danny Boy.

Big Ned has their hands full. What a great look for a Nederland team loaded with seniors on offense and a younger defense that has been pretty impressive up to this point. People can say what they will about the importance of a scrimmage but this will really give Nederland a great measuring stick on where they are and what they need to concentrate on leading up to district play.

If I was a WOS fan, I would be a little concerned about how Vidor moved the ball around the corners with the Chain Gang pretty much stacking 11 men in the box. There was never a threat for Vidor to pass so everyone knew it was a run every play. In all fairness, I left at half time so did not see much in the second half. Poor Vidor.....They will not win a game this year. I have never seen a Vidor team that little. They played with a lot of heart but that will not get you very far in 20-4A.

Why is the WOS scrimmage at the middle school tonight?
