Assessing your team's season so far, what are you most surprised about (in a positive way), and what are you most disappointed/frustrated about? For example: I am most pleasantly surprised of Nederland's ability to find a way to win (most) close games with such an inexperienced (varsity exp) team. The Dawgs also tend to step it up a notch against 'talented teams'. It will serve them well for the post season. I am frustrated that this young team does not have that 'Killer Instinct' against some teams. They don't seem to be as focused when playing 'inferior teams'. Some games are much closer than I think they should be.

Was not a run away, but Ned had a 8-9 point lead for the last 3 min of the game. It ended a 6 point game, but Ned did not contest Green's 3 with :19 remaining which cut the lead to 6.

Ozen impressed me Tuesday night at the Dawg Dome. Listening to other people's opinions, I thought they were not suppose to be very good this year. I think Central takes them too lightly after beating them 3 times already this year, and Ozen comes out hungry to pull off the upset.

The 2nd half of 20-4A begins Tuesday. The biggest matchup being Bmt. Central V Bmt. Ozen. Central is 3-0 against Ozen this season. Will they make it 4-0?

Good to see that Jamiere is getting the recognition he deserves. Every night, he gets the job that Josh Wagner had the past two seasons for Nederland; the responsibility of covering the other team's best offensive player. [Hidden Content]

I have heard repeatedly that 65% is a good gauge for a team in HS.

This is the projected 1st round match ups for 20-4A & 19-4A IF the standings remain the way they are today: Nederland Vs. Houston North Forest Bmt Central Vs. GCM Bmt Ozen Vs. C.E. King LCM Vs. Crosby

There is no time limit to respond to a post.  :) I was just curious as to why you thought that way, and home court advantage is a big deal in HS basketball. Someone posted on another thread how basketball is a funny game. They brought up that Silsbee beat HJ by 3 and WOS by 7 (at home), then HJ wins at WOS by 30+. Same thing happened last night. Central beat LCM (at Central) by 35+, Ned beat Central (in Ned by 17), then Ned squeaks by LCM (at the Bear's Den) by 2 in OT. Point being that your comment about home court advantage has substance to it, and Ned will have to play a little better to leave Beaumont 2-0 in the 2nd half of district.

[/quote] I knew it was going to be an intense, playoff like environment. This was a great win by Big Ned, bc it could easily have gone either way. That big guy is....BIG! This will help both teams for the rest of district and especially the playoffs. Not sure how Central beat LCM by as much as they did a couple of weeks ago, bc LCM has a very good team! Anyone who has to play on their court will have to step it up if they plan to leave there with a win.
