1. I don't think being the 3rd best is what Coach E is striving to accomplish this season. A taste of the playoffs a few years ago may have been okay, but now they expect to win. Not in an arrogant way, but  in a way of confidence. This group of kids are not accustomed to losing. Since Ned added another big man this summer, they will be fighting for the district title again, not 3rd place.  ;)

Interesting, most pollsters know Nederland will be chasing from the rear this year ;)
Which pollsters are u referring to, 'The Dove Group'?
I'm just saying: Nederland is polled in 3rd spot on most polls. Somebody must know something ;)
I'm just curious which other polls you are referring to? I haven't seen any polls. Of course that doesn't mean they don't exist. I know Nederland has looked good so far this Fall in the Houston tourneys which they played in. They beat Central this summer as well. All 3 of those teams (Ozen, Central, Nederland) could finish in any order 1st-3rd.
Does not matter Honest, 3 rd place and you still get a taste of playoffs. ;)
4. For the reply section, in what order will the top 4 teams finish this year in district? 1. Ozen 2. Nederland 3. Central 4. Livingston
 5. Which 3 teams make the playoffs this year in District 21-3A? Really more interested in which order you predict they will finish: 1. HJ 2. WOS 3. Silsbee
 6. In his defense, if one does not realize it's a poll, then I can see where it is open to other teams outside of HJ and Silsbee. In my defense, I like to poke fun at Dove, so I mentioned Nederland. Sorry about that.  ;) Now that we have opened it up to other teams, I think Humble is the team to beat in our 4A region this year. They bring back 4 starters from last year's team which Nederland beat by 1pt in round 3 (I think it was only 1 pt.). Their 6' 8" post is LOOONG, and their guards are quick! I saw them @ the Super 16 Extraganza, and I saw their team when they went 34-0. They are at the same level of talent as the 34-0 team.
Funny, I don't see Yates or Nederland in the poll question listed above. As for who has the best chance of the two listed above in this thread, HJ has the better chance.
Wow, you just had to go throw Nederland in that comment!  Well unlike most people I have some reality and go outside of this area for TRUE basketball talent.    And AAW if u want my opinion on 3A schools, Mexia will win yalls region again, Best of Luck to HJ and Silsbee on a great year.  (last time I checked the tittle of this thread was "Who has the best chance to win state?" not "Does Silsbee or HJ have a chance at  winning State?" )  ;D ;D ;D
Did you bother to look at the poll that is listed at the top of the thread? The author of the thread posted the poll in asking who out of Silsbee and HJ had the best chance to win state. Never mentioned Yates or Nederland. No one asked who would actually win state. (yes I do know that other teams outside this area are better and have better chances) I think I have seen much more basketball than you have my friend. ;)
If I was forced to bet on one of these two teams, I would go with HJ. From what I hear, these teams are equally talented. I would give HJ the edge in coaching, which goes a long way in HS playoffs.

Part of the problem with people today is that they are very detatched from each other. They have no feelings for anyone but their self. How would you feel if it was your son? Come on people....
U nailed it. We are disconnected as a society b/c of social networking, email, txt msg, etc. If everyone else does it, then it becomes a 'unwritten rule'. It's not like anyone is asking the opposing team to bring flowers to the injured player. Just drop a knee and respect the game and others.
And the award for most obnoxious fan's goes to those few in PN-G that make post like the above. I still have video of your 88 team that was 0-10. Every program has it's up's and down's with some more than others but I can't wait for PN-G to be knocked out of the playoffs. Your run will be short lived.
Um that 88 team went 1-9 in 5A thank you! ;D And 12-2 the next year in 4A. At least we'll have a run! That's like saying "I can't wait till the Prom Queen breaks up with you!" ;D All in good fun of course. I've got alot of good friends over there in Bear country and have the utmost respect for them as people. If my kids didn't go to PNG, LCM would be my next choice due to the quality of education they would recieve and the good people of those two communities.
21. If HJ's 'weak schedule has produced those outcomes, they just might know what they're doing. MOST coaches know what is best for their program, and every year (and every school) is unique.
Superb use of the English language and I have a feeling that the Bulldogs will capture the title again.  I tend not to get too concerned about what somebody else feels about the district we are in or who we played.  We are regularly criticized for our weak schedule but that weak schedule has not stopped us from getting to the regionals each of the last 5 years( and that includes two trips to Austin).  Based upon that result, I am getting more and more convinced ( ;D) that the coaching staff may actually know and be better qualified to handle the details than posters on this board. 24. I'm sure everyone knows by now that all districts are weak unless it's a district which Dove's teams are a part of (Nash-Sorry for ending  my sentence with a preposition ;) ). 20-4A was weak last yr b/c HF was not in it. Now that he has a personal interest in the district, 20-4A is now elite (especially if Nederland doesn't win their 3rd district title in a row).  :o

Evadale's #17 ranking is a good place to start. The Rebels will return three starters from last years State Runner Up team in shooting guard, Devon Murphy; small forward, Shawn Totten and point guard, Brandon Bruce. The Rebels lost the big senior class in numbers and height, but a couple of other players from last years team can be looked on to fill those wholes. Post, Kyle Taylor got plenty of playing time last season and playoff experience as well. Bradien Burford also was brought up from the JV by coach Laurence Williams so there are five players (four of those are seniors) who bring plenty of experience and knowledge of the system into this season. There are some talented players that will make the move up from the JV squad too!
Will The Rebels Win There Dist. ;D ;D ;D ;D
I think it will be a 3 team race this yr between Hull, BS, and the Rebs. The Rebs will be trying to replace 3 all dist big guys and learing to play a different style of ball. I look of them to strugel in predist. just like in football, but by the time dist. rolls around they should be playing good ball. The key to this yr, as in all yrs, is to limit the turnovers, and get their shooting guard open looks. They are going to be smaller than they have been in 3 yrs, so they will have to relia on speed and good shooting.
And don't forget that weak district you're in  ;D :o
