I don't know if Smith is happy or not, but I do know that he WANTS to be here in Nederland. He doesn't want to pack his bags and move to another town. From what i know, he wants to stay here and coach with English. I don't think many of us know Walker very well. We r not questioning his care for the kids or passion. He will be coaching football through (at least) mid November, and possibly into December some years. With that said, who is going to coach these kids when basketball practice starts in October and November? Then he's going to be thrown into a game not knowing the kids or the offense, or anything. So English will probably have to take over those duties until he can get up and running. That's asking a lot from English. He is already burning the mid-night oil. Every kid throughout the entire program will be affected by this.
