Great post, except that when there is a much better option who has wanted this position for three years, why not put him in that role? Our concern is not Walker, BTW. Walker is no more qualified to coach football than he is basketball and I can bet that Coach English will do a fine job in molding Walker into the assistant he needs. I think its sad yall would be willing to storm the school board meeting because an assistant basketball, football, baseball, coach and science teacher didn't meet your approval yet we sit back and watch our facilities deteriorate, teacher's pay freeze, and on the brink of having to cut teachers from our schools. If yall want to go to the school board and complain then I say we do. I say we go and complain and demand our students, athletes, and teachers get what they need. New facilities and more funding. I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone is blaming the new assistant. It's more about Neumann not looking out for the best interest of the athletic department. Keep in mind, this will also affect the baseball team, b/c basketball playoffs will run into the beginning of baseball practice (and maybe some games??). "he has to have SOME reason for putting the coaches where they are..."?? Kinda like how he hired an Ag teacher a few years ago to be the head soccer coach? Neumann is clearly envious of the success and attention of the basketball program.  The sad thing is that the kids are the one's who will suffer most from this. Do you think he would hire a defensive line coach to coach his QBs? I think not. He has an ex-QB at that position who is also the OC. You are right, he may be a good football coach, but he is NOT a good AD. A good AD is one who helps each kid thrive in every sport, not just football! The problem in Nederland is that Everyone is afraid of Neumann, including administrators. They were not innocent in this hire. They sat by and watched this take place and allowed Neumann to continue his dictatorship!! We all need to bring this atrocity to our school board. If we don't, then nothing will EVER change!!
