The assistant coaches do NOT stare into space, come on now. You are trying to compare them to coach E, and that is just not fair. Coach E is one of very few who dedicates his entire life to the game. Just b/c they don't eat, sleep, drink b-ball 24/7 doesn't mean they don't care. OF COURSE they care, and they know their role on the team. Yes, Pill was a GREAT asset and will be hard to replace. At this point in his life he is more dedicated than the assistant coaches, but he has chose to make Nederland basketball his life too, 24/7. Bottom line is: we did NOT play our best game, and Ball was the better team.

I'm not condoning him pushing the Ball player, I'm just acknowledging that I see where the kid would be frustrated and do that. He prob did not mean him harm, just caught up in the embarrassing moment, so he pushed him. Again, NO reason to put him back in the game. By doing that, he disrespected coach English, who does not deserve that.
Temple put him back in to spread the floor and help ice the game. It's not as if they stayed in the full court run and jump. Furthermore, you can't blame the kid for wanting to dunk on a breakaway. How about you question the kid who pushed him in the back? I understand and somewhat commend the toughness of not wanting to get dunked on, but in a twenty point game you don't risk injuring someone.
Temple had PLENTY of players to spread the floor and 'ice' the 20 pt lead-Is that really your interpretation?? The Nederland kids were tired of being pushed and slapped without getting calls. There is only so much one can take of that w/o getting frustrated. There was absolutely NO reason for him to be put back in the game except to show off.
I was really amazed last night when the Ball coach put #2 back in the game at the end just to get a slam on a team they already had beat! Thought he should have been resting for the next game and instead took a really hard foul... from that perspective, doesn't surprise me they got out coached tonight...
It was rather class-less of the Ball coach to leave his starters in for so long. Coach English pulled his starters a five minutes before the Ball coach did. It appeared that he just wanted to run up the score, and for that reason, I understand other people wanting them to lose. Just what was he trying to accomplish?
Havent been a fan of Ball ever since I saw then a few times in the Bulldog Classic.. Cocky is the major reason.. Big time
Doesn't matter what your personal reasons are, you should want the team who beat you to go all the way. Then you can look back and say, "at least we lost to the best team in the state."
Do you think the "top dogs" don't want Coach English to win. Isn't there two assistants, which one are you calling mindless, or is it both?
Did anyone notice there was just ONE assistant coach at the Ball game? The other assistant coach was in Florida at Disney World w/the Nederland drill team....REALLY!?!?!? I blame it all on Coach Neuman not wanting the basketball team (or any other sports program in Ned) to do better than football b/c he is so insecure and threatened by EVERYONE!!! The people of Nederland need to push him out.

He was the best player of his district and scored 33 against a good Mexia team. Varsity for 4 years and a big part of the team the past 4 years. He's up there with the best no doubt. Especially over Smith from Central.
Why was Smith thrown in your post?
Different Smith from a different Central (Pollack) near Lufkin.
Just because someone picks the other team to beat "your" team, is not a lack of respect, it's a PREDICTION. People can have opinions that don't have to agree with "your" team winning every game. ::) I've seen post after post from Soulja saying how good he thinks Nederland is doing and done this season and Honest Abe you have called him out about not having respect for Nederland. ::)
I'm just trying to convince him that Nederland has a legit chance to win. It's not too late to jump on their bandwagon. Another reason I'm on him is b/c I don't want him to go 5-10 again tonight-ha! ;)

Every team has made it this deep for a reason-they r good. There is not a team remaining who can b overlooked!

Abe- I think you are exactly right. I think many tend to get over enamored with individual talent and not sufficiently enamored with a teams ability to function as a team. If I remember all of the talk on her in the last couple of days correctly, Nederland also had "no way" to stay with Humble. Again, I think the skepticism works to Nederlands advantage. Many also assume that if a team is from or near the "big city" then nobody can compete with them. I guess we will find out soon and I have high hopes for Nederland to prove the naysayers wrong.
i will admit i was one of those that predicted defeat for Nederland. Not trying to be negative, but didn't think they could pull it off. I feel the same way this week, i just don't think they have enough to pull it off. It would be great to see it Nederland pull off the upset and take a bite of crow.
No sweat Hawk. I picked Cleveland over HJ. Since HJ won though, I am NOW a believer and will pick themto win from here on. It just took ONE BIG win like that to convince me. Nederland has beat EVERY 4A team they've played this yr, and I think they deserve the same respect that HJ has.

Outside of Nederland fans, only Lazeek and Scooter and stevenash r giving Nederland the respect they deserve!
