1. Does Vidor now have a leg-up on that 4th spot? PN-G and LC-M doesn't seem to want it...
 2.

'Upset'?   ::) ::)  Central will beat Nederland.
You seem so sure about that ::)
I was rolling eyes at the word used...  'upset'.  I was stating that we'll win and it won't be an upset... ;)
IF a 3rd pl team beats a 1st place team at their 'house', it's an upset... IF WO-S would have beat Silsbee today at home, that would have been an upset (3rd pl vs. 1st pl)-very simple.
 3. Ozen up 38-26 at half.
 4. I'm predicting a PN-G victory. Who's on the wagon w/me?
 5. Anyone going to broadcast #2 Nederland vs. #5 Bmt Central @ 7:30? 14 game win streak vs. a 7 game win streak...
 6. Gotta consider Weisbrod Freshman from Nederland on this topic. Has anyone seen him play? The kid plays behind two 6'5" seniors, so he only gets to log about 12 minutes/game. However, he dropped 15 and grabbed 12 boards against Livingston Wednesday night. He's been solid all season and even started a few games when Fourney was out.
 7.
with all the talk about C.BOSHA i would have thought more people would comment on this subject. But congrads to ONE of the best freshmans in SETX. :D
I mentioned his name on that thread last week, but nobody responded-probably b/c most of those on that thread have not seen him play yet (or not much). He's solid.
 8. We all know Nederland has won 14 in a row, but Central has a hot hand too. They've won 7 straight,  with their last loss being against Nederland. BTW-They too beat PN-G by 2pts at the buzzer.
 9.
does he play football?
Don't think so.
 10.
Abe, you make a jack butt out of yourself when you make assumptions!
I've noticed you are rather opinionated. You know what they say about opinions; They are like ____, everyone has one! :o
 11. He had 15 pts and 12 boards against Livingston the other night. If Nederland didn't already have 3 other players over 6'5", he'd be a bigger part of the puzzle. He'll be 'the man in the middle' for them next year, and the next, and the next. This year he is more of a role player. Definitely a top Freshman in the area. He's just being overshadowed by the upper classmen this year...
 12. Unlikely, but NEVER say NEVER!!! Good point though about Silsbee coming off a big win against HJ. I'll give them a 15% chance of pulling off an upset.
 13.

At that point in the game you are not really even thinking about OT or not.  This isn't football where there is lots of down time in between plays for extra coaching and thought to take place. What you are thinking is "they've got the ball with 1 minute to go and they are in spread trying to get us to come out of the defense that has hurt them the entire game.....they want us to get into something that they can exploit easily" what no one has even said is that even if png came out who is to say that nederland doesn't play keep away for the rest of the time and still hold for the last shot? with those thoughts you are not concerned about OT or whatever....they are on offense, you are on defense and all you are thinking is they have us in a bind right now so my best chance is to sit back and make them come to us and beat the defense that has given them trouble all game long
From the video, it was very evident what they wanted to do.  If I was coaching, I would have thought that if there is more than 30-45 seconds left on the clock (enough for several possessions), then I'd go for it.  I've laid out the percentages - rough as they are - and I still think that the coaches' job is to maximize his odds of winning.  Letting Nederland have that last shot did not help their case whatsoever. Just my opinion, though.  ;)
It's one I think many (logical) people would agree on. Good post!
 14. They have a tendency of having one subpar quarter-it's usually the 1st quarter. But they always seem to find a spark from someone. Usually Smith or Cunningham. English was their spark against PN-G; Mike (PG) and Colton (6'4" Frosh) scored 13 and 15 respectively last night against Livingston. He plays behind Forney, so his PT is only about 12 min/game. He also added 12 boards. Not too shabby for a Freshman who plays PT behind the reigning MVP. He and English will be a force to reckon with over the next couple of years...
 15.
Nobody knows.  A month from now, maybe Nederland is playing 25% better than they are now.  If so, why wouldnt they have a chance?  If they are playing 25% worse, probably they might lose first or second round.  Personally, I am pulling for any local team to represent the golden triangle in Austin whether its mine or not.  Speaks well of basketball for this area if it happens.
Good to hear a TRUE SETX sports fan here. I too will pull for any teams coming out of this area, regardless if it's a team I routinely cheer against during district play. If Nederland plays like they did last night in Quarters 1, 3, & 4, they will cruise through the 1st 2 (hopefully 3) rounds in the playoffs.
 16. PN-G is playing better than the other teams in the chase. My biggest concern w/them is: Where do they play LC-M (Home or away)? Makes a big difference. Both places have tough environments. Whoever has home court has the slight advantage in my opinion. If LC-M plays like they did against Central, and PN-G plays like they did against Nederland, then PN-G will easily take the 4th position. Heck, they even have a good chance to beat Ozen Friday since they have players sitting b/c of grades.
 17. The way Central has been playing lately, they will probably give Nederland all they can handle. Should go down to the wire.
 18.
Honest Abe, can you read? Those are not Bosha's stats. Ballinforlife you are correct. Let him grow and let him be!!!!!
No. I'm illiterate jack-ass! I responded to an earlier post where there were no names. Wow...rough crowd!
 19. Coach English must have given them an earful at half time. They outscored Livingston 30-9 in the 3rd. Score is now 62-39!!!
 20. Nederland up 43-32. Midway through the 3rdQ
