  1. There was a topic about this a few weeks back. When asked if Ned has a chance at beating Central or Ozen, the answers were short and quick...NOPE! Ozensfinest and AAW were the two who I recall answering quickly. Knowing better, I took a screen shot of the remarks.
  2. Since Nederland has no chance of winning, I'll go with Central by 30+
  3. The refs last night were from San Antonio.
  4. Here is the answer: With about 4 min/3:30 remaining, Ozen fouled us and we missed the front end of the 1-1 twice. Ozen capitalized with an easy bucket on a deep 3. That tied the game, so we stalling wasn't a viable option, IMO.
  5. English already fouled out. Miguez with 4. Gotta make our FTs!!!
  6. Ozen Freshmen won 40-37
  7. It's still early in the year, and it's only a district game. The real season begins AFTER district play. Ozen has been playing really well lately, so it's gonna be a battle for sure. There is one kid on the Nederland team who will be the difference in the game. The outcome depends on his play and poise.
  8. It's never affected our play before. Like I said, we always seem to play well when we play AT Ozen.
  9. I believe our PG, Darrell Jones is a junior, not a senior.
  10. I'll take Nederland +15 all day. Not predicting a win, but I wouldn't be shocked if it happens. I say the dogs keep it within 10. We always play well at Ozen.
  11. yep! With the UIL reducing the amount of non-district games, coaches are wanting their teams to play at least 3 games in tournaments. Pool play tournaments offer 3 minimal, sometimes 4. In a traditional tournament format, a team might only play two games and be done. Definitely NOT what coaches are looking for, therefore the quality of teams may be compromised.
  12. yes, Jones did transfer from PA last year and played on Neds JV team. His development over the past 12 months have been impressive. He wasn't very polished when he arrived. The program at Nederland has helped him develop his skills. He has done a good enough job that we aren't missing Ballou like we thought we would. He's been selected to the all tournament team in 2/3 tourneys this year.
  13. i thought the basketball forum needed a little flavoring to get some chatter going.
  14. Your comparison of the score of these 3 22-5A schools brings up some interesting conversation. Just a couple of days ago, it was boldly stated on this board that Nederland has 'no chance' of beating Ozen or Central. Did anyone see how BS DOMINATED a very athletic Longview team by 20! Could easily have been worse. That game was played without 2 starters and a key reserve for BS. I would LOVE to hear the rationale behind the statements that were made earlier this week. Just gonna throw this date out there for those who have short term memory issues when it comes to Ned not having a chance against Ozen/Central: February 25, 2014
  15. 3:30 remaining 63-53 Ned
  16. Middle of 4th. Dawgs up 56-50
  17. Dawgs lead 25-17 with 3:30 remaining in the 2nd Q
  18. The main reason I don't frequent this website is bc I always get kicked off of the server.
  19. Our boys came out with high energy from the big win over Alvin. Not to mention wanting to avenge a loss to Kelly earlier this year on opening night AND the fact that our Freshman AND JV teams both won 1st place yesterday in the BUlldog Classic as well. And coach E had them extra fired up since Ned has never won our own tourney. All of the above led to a high intensity from our boys to start the game. We had a huge 1st Q and caused chaos with Kelly's back court and carried that momentum through the half. Both teams were sluggish to start the 3rd, but Ned never allowed Kelly to get within 18. Congrats to Miguez, Kevin, and Darrell on all tourney honors. Go Dawgs.
  20. Half ned 32 TWHS 23 semifinals gold bracket
