[/quote]Well said Nash. There are 14 games played by each team in District 20-4A. Was he kept in check those two games against Central? Yes. However, his other 12 games must have been impressive enough to get the majority of votes by the coaches. When a coach sets an entire game plan to stop a player (or two) that speaks volumes. 8) Give coach Lee credit for devising that game plan. Not every team has the personnel to play that defense successfully, that's why other teams didn't try it.

And Beaumont has HAD the talent to win it all for YEARS. So for you the knock who you called "the great one" is just crazy, being that he has WON a state title there, and went to the State Championship game 3 other times while the school has only been open and playing varsity competition since 1998. So in 10 years (1998-2008), one state title, 10 district titles, 4 regional titles, and you have the audacity to COMPARE what the two Ozen coaches have accomplished? Sounds crazy, huh? I realize that going to state was MADE to look easy, but it is definitely NOT. Losing to Vidor 3 times in one year? Yes it happened...Vidor had a LOADED senior team, and Ozen had a team that featured 12 underclassmen, and ONE senior that played any significant minutes...Ironically, OZEN STILL WON THE DISTRICT TITLE and advanced to the Regional tournament finishing 27-7 in a "down" year, losing to eventual state champion Houston Jones. Also, maybe two Central players were nominated for MVP. One of them being Pearson the other Wileridge. It was CLEAR that they were New Comer AND Defensive MVP respectively. Maybe some coaches saw that as clear cut and did not want to vote for the same player for 2 different awards?? Just a possibility. The more I think about the recipients of the awards, it makes more sense. There will always be controversy in All-District selections. Always have been.

Could it be that Crosby is very good?  They  are district Co-district,t champions, you know.  Could it be that Georgetown is very good?  They took down a talented Central bunch and then took down a good Nederland team (who did beat your panthers may I add).  Georgetown was prepared for a fast pace game vs. Central and a few days later (yesterday), was prepared for a slow down game vs Nederland that ,according to a lot of Nederland fans INCLUDING my Nederland contact, was the best possible matchup for them (they didn't want Central for a 3rd time).  Only time will tell, my fellow Beaumontonian (is that even a word?  Lol).  If Crosby or Georgetown make it to the regional final or the state simi's, then your point WON'T be proven....but at that point, you'll try to say, 'lets see if they can win a state title', right?  8) 8)  So please keep 'your case' restless. Remember that our 3rd place team beat 19-4As Co-District champs with relative ease. Over the last 3 years, 20-4A is 10-5 against 19-4A in the post season and 9-3 including the first round.
