BTW-I watched a Nederland fan get kicked out of a gym two years ago in the Barber's Hill tourney for questioning a call made by a ref. i will mention (only to make my point) that the ref was black. Funny, bc not ONE single Ned fan suggested that he was removed from his seat bc of race. Guess who escorted him out? Police!! Was it necessary in that situation? I don't think so bc the fan left without an incident, but the policies set forth in that gym insisted on security in order to implement that policy. Again, why is it so difficult to respect the rules set forth by Nederland admin? ???

For the record, there is 1/8 of the gym that is reserved for the Ned fans, 1/8th reserved for the visiting fans. The remaining 6/8 (or 3/4) is open seating for all. Does that seem like extreme rules for anyone to follow? Does that sound racists or discriminatory to anyone? Did we force our non-white fans to sit in the Central section? Think about it!

U ignored AAW's comment about seating that he has seen in most gyms. We enforce this same rule when PNG comes to town. Why do so many people want to go to the rave card so quickly and repeatedly? When Nederland played Central this year in football, which searing section did you sit in? When you go to a Rockets game with a seat number, do you tell them you can sit where you want to sit? Ironically, every time I have ever observed a seating controversy at a sporting event, the police/security are involved. Rules are rules, just follow them. I know, I know, it's much easier to just play the race card. ::)
Race card? Racism and being discriminated against is not a game! I know you would know nothing of this and therefore can easily make light of the subject. There's no card being played. SMH go head and lock this moderators cause some people's ignorance is starting to show!
u know nothing about me or my race sir. If you want to speak of ignorance, you just demonstrated that you believe discrimination only goes in one direction. It shows YOUR ignorance sir.

If people would read the HUGE banner indicating where home and visitors were to sit a rope fence and armed guards would not be needed. READ THE SIGNS AND FIND YOUR SEAT ACCORDINGLY. What was so hard to understand about the HUGE banner?
Every gym has that. It's where they 'prefer you to sit. They don't call in security to force you to sit somewhere. There's a difference.
Explain the difference
No need. Water under the bridge now. If I were asked to move, I would have declined as should those few fans that elected to move.
Why not just respect AND abide by the rules that are set in place? If the speed limit is 55, and you refuse to drive that slow, do authorities not have the right to pull you over and write you a ticket? When you go to a public place, do you look at their rules and just ignore them? I will repeat this story again: Last year, Central officials made an announcement (exactly as we did last night) asking fans to sit on their respective sides. There was no issue made bc we respected the rules of BISD and Central and moved. You didn't hear anything about this bc we did not make an issue out of it.

I agree. Shooting 32% from the field will not win many games against a team like Central. As the paper mentioned, we had open looks, we just were not making our shots. Plenty of opportunities. Then when we got within 2 points, we threw the ball away in 2 straight possessions and 3 of 4 while the Jags converted on the other end. Speaking of an effective full court press, please press next game, we will win that game. We turned it over against the Jag press twice while we had 2 of our starting guards out of the game. When they came back in, we broke it every time.

Speaking of elbows Soulja, it goes BOTH ways. There were many times while we were trying to run our offense that elbows were thrown in the chests of our kids so they could not run around a pick or were being physically held so they could not get open. Did any Ned fans come on this board complaining about it? No. It's a part of the game. If somebody reads this thread and didn't know the score, they would probably think Nederland won this game. The refs were from the College Station chapter, so no 'home cooking' took place. The foul count for the game was Ned 14 Central 12.

The Ned administrators had someone (prolly cheerleaders) make a huge sign over the stands which clearly read: HOME with an arrow pointing towards the Ned bench and VISITORS with an arrow pointing towards Central's bench. The sign was on a paper that was approximately 5 feet high by 20 foot wide. It was impossible to not see. The information I mentioned about Central rules is an experience myself and other Ned fans experienced last year and the two years before that. We had a group of fans escorted from the Central side to the Nederland side last year bc of BISD rules, and nobody was offended.

Central played 5 against 8 all night.
seriously? ??? The foul count was about even for the game. Oops, actually Ned had 3 more fouls than Central including a player with 2 clean blocks who fouled out. ::) The refs were consistent, what more do you want? Central was clearly the better team tonight, learn to WIN with class. ::)
Really class? How about teaching number 1 to play with and have some class about himself. Oh and it was real classy going get the police to make black people give up their seats for no apparent reason. The game was only as close as it was because of the officiating. Central is the better team period, not just tonight!
come on sir/madam. The race card, seriously? There was a sign about seating, and like Central, we have rules. Actually, we adopted our rules from BISD, Central HS to be exact. Ozen does not implement this rule. If you think about it, it is not wise to allow opposing team's fans to sit amongst each other. If you attend a high school football game, MOST stadiums will not allow one to go to the stands of the opposing team. How exactly did #1 show to be classless? Did he not shake hands? FYI-#1 plays summer ball with about 1/2 of Central's team. They are actually good friends off the court. BTW-#1's dad mingled and talked amongst Jag fans for 20 minutes after the game ended. Probably bc he knows them personally from playing AAU ball. Is it not classless to call two of our kids 'white boys' when they clearly are not? It seems that MOST fans got along rather well throughout the game. I didn't see any issues whatsoever. Sorry that our administrators and police enforced policies that are in place for the safety of ALL involved.

Too many weapons. Ned had chances to tie or lead but after we cut the lead to 2, we threw the ball away on 3 straight possessions. Also, shooting 32% for the night is tough to win against elite teams.
