1. Tied at 15 at half. Neither team can buy a bucket.
 2.
Speaking of pushing buttons, I see where RcsSports has Nederland as the underdog against (????) P.A. Memorial?
It's pretty simple: PAM beat The Village recently, who turned around a few hours later and beat Nederland.  :-\
 3. IMO, the way these kids will be utilized depends largely on their learning curve, and their desire to wanting to be on the court. For starters, They all have to relearn the offense, which will take time. English's offense is very detailed and structured. If these kids want to play, then they need to put in extra hours with the kids who know the offense already. If their passion for basketball is the same as it is for FB, then they will spend the extra time towards their basketball skills physically AND mentally. Couron and Washington are a little beat up from FB, so they won't even practice until next week. Hopefully they at least attend practice and pay attention and learn their plays.
 4. Looking back over this conversation, I'm not sure how this got so out of hand. I never saw anyone claim that the FB kids should not be allowed on the team. I believe they are desperately needed in order for us to make another deep playoff run. Regardless of what skill set 5on5 believes they have or Big Show or Brubaker or myself believes. What matters is what the coaches think. Last year, these guys played a big role in our success. If we play a BIG team, then Washington and Couron will be utilized more so than when we play a team like Silsbee. Kimler is more diverse, bc he's fast AND he plays physical (which we desperately need)! Kimler was a defensive specialist for most of last year, and he played limited minutes. When he asked Coach E. to move down to JV for 2nd half of district, he was able to work on his offensive and skill sets. He returned to Varsity for playoffs. If he has developed an outside shot since last season, he could be deadly.  Did these players improved their basketball skills since last year, IMO yes, just not as much as the non-FB kids. Brubaker mentioned English's brother being good at both sports, but that was over 20 years ago when kids didn't play year round. Plus, he was more of an exception rather than the norm. In addition, since our FB team made a deep run this year, so those kids will have to put in extra time if they want to make a serious impact for the team. It can happen though: Just 2 years ago, D. Forney was our QB then starred on the BBall team. It took him about a month to get to where he was from previous year as it will take a while for these kids too. Hopefully they will work hard over the Christmas Break so they can be 'ready'. Bottom line: We need them in order to make another deep run!

We have done good so far, with Couron Washington Kimler (Seay said coach is looking to move him up to varsity) all coming from football, they will add size and depth to the bench.
Move'em up! Go for it.  Will get the experience and get better.
Nobody is 'moving up'. These kids are joining the team from FB. 3 of the 4 he mentioned were on Varsity last year. I doubt any of the Freshmen players will move up this year. I expect many of these Freshmen will be on Varsity next year though, and they should be ready by then.
Nederland is looking great!  16-0  They have good ball handlers, good rebounders, solid defense, good shooters and unselfess players.... Oh what, that's the freshman team. Sorry!
Not to mention they've won 3* JV Tournaments! ;)
 7.
Dove making very bold predictions.  He has Nederland beating Central twice but Central making it to Austin.
It happened 2 years ago when Galv. Ball beat LaMarque twice in district in 2010/2011, then LaMarque got revenge by beating Ball in Regional Finals to advance to Austin.

 9.
I havnt made any games yet. Wanting to though. Been going to all the football games.
One word: INCONSISTENT!
 10. Why so much love for WB? How did they jump to 3rd after going 2-2 at Bulldog Classic AND losing to CE King?

Looked good all 4th Qs. CE King was good. Very disciplined and patient. We will beat HCYA tomorrow if we play like that! Keep it up!
::)
We scored 3 points in the 4th Q and lost by 2 Dove. Had we played 1/2 as we did the night before, we beat HCYA by 10+, so not sure what your  ::) means exactly.  ::) CE King was solid and well coached. They defeated WB 52-47 on Saturday, and came up just short against Katy Taylor. Very disciplined (except thier big), and they played good team ball. They had some shooters and kids who could take it to the hoop. I predict that either our 2nd or 3rd place team will face them in round one of the playoffs.
CE King's big is just a freshman. I was impressed.
Me too.  ;)
 12. Who won this tourney? South Grand Prairie?

 14.
What did Ned need in order to beat this team? Where were we lacking or where did we not play well?
Gary Payton, aka 'The Glove'
 15.
I still say the best team in the tourney was The Village, and Memorial beat those guys. HCYA played very well against PAM, the Titans did not play well at all. They had no answer for HCYA's star Justin Jackson. He had 19 points, 15 boards, and 9 block shots.
Village was definitely the best team at the tourney. Coach Williams and Roberson had a great game plan which worked, and that's why they beat them IMO. They slowed the pace of the game which frustrated their PG stud #11. Ned led HCYA for most of their game until the end when we couldn't buy a bucket. 3 points in Q4 not going to win many. JJ played well against us, but J Jackson turned it up a notch against PAM. He only had 1-2 blocks against us bc Weisbrod was able to go by Jackson with his quickness and ability to put the ball on the floor.  Colton had 20 of our 40 points. We played like we did against WB 2 weeks ago when we lost in OT. Just couldn't make outside shots. Memorial players tried to shoot over him. That's why he had 9 blocks. Had The Village gotten past PAM, I believe they would have won the tourney over HCYA.
Yep. They r good all around. Can't just focus on Justin Jackson bc they have a Big and a PG who can go.

 18.
The kid from HCYA must be a beast for Roy Williams to come to Mid-County to watch him.
6'7" Shooting guard. He's been at Ned tourney past 3 years.
 19. Nederland on the map today with Roy Williams in the house!
 20.
I think they need to do a COMPLETE review of these officials in the Beaumont chapter
YEP! I could not agree more!
