1. KW Park getting no respect. After back-to-back Reg Tourney appearances, they are picked to finish 4th in their district? Maybe they lost a lot to graduation?
When you play Silsbee, get ready to play physical. Sometimes they are too aggressive, IMO, but would like to see my Dawgs learn from them. Ned has improved in that area, but sometimes we play too soft. Can't play soft and expect to beat a team like Silsbee.
I almost passed out when a Nederland player was kicked out of the Baytown Sterling game. Man, he is a warrior. Pulled his Jersey up and was ready for battle. Stood his ground too. Lets hope it doesn't rubber off. LOL!
As I mentioned, Ned has become more aggressive lately, but they need to learn to control their frustration and not retaliate when the play is over.

A couple of local kids on the list. Someone mentioned earlier that he played AAU ball this past summer with a 16U team and not a 17/18U team. Maybe he was not on their list bc he was not noticed at the lower level? Although I'm not a huge fan of AAU, I agree it is a necessary evil which kids should play if they want to get noticed. It's not easy to play in the Big 12. One has to be exceptional to get a scholarship with UT, Baylor, A&M, etc. Same with C-USA. As we have now learned, some of the better basketball kids in our area are not good enough to play in the SLC. I think a kid with the skill sets like Devante would be thrilled to be able to play for McNeese. Here's a question: Does Devante even want to play college basketball? Some kids get burned out after HS and AAU.
Uh Abe, A&M is SEC now. ;) ;D
When did that happen? JK! Thanks for the reminder AAW!  ;)

 8.
Nederland ever since Coach English came. Personally cant remember Nederland having anything consistent before that. Abe can probably give some details.
No consistency at all. When English was in school (1987), he led the Dogs to their 1st post season since 1955. Then Ned finished 3rd in the early 90's. I think it was '93 or '94, but we were one and done. English  arrived in Ned in 2006 (i believe), and the Dogs made the playoffs during his 3rd year (2009). After winning (or sharing) a district title three years straight (2010-2012), we suddenly have much higher expectations. Hopefully this is the start of our winning tradition. I surely don't want us to go back to those days of losing.  :'( Sorry if my years aren't exact, my mind ain't what it use to be!  ;D

Its been like that for years, and png is getting torched and they still pump em up smdh
Maybe it's bc more people in Ned and PNG subscribe to the PA News compared to those who live in PA??
 10.
Is Team Beaumont the Westbrook squad or Ozen's younger players?
From what I understand, there is a Bmt team that has players from Central and Ozen. There are also lower divisions, but not sure which team's are in the lower division.
 11. Teams have not been finalized yet.

 13.
I think part of the problem with the receivers is that they are all plenty short.
Except Kimler, who is a legit 6'2", maybe 6'3". Not sure why he does not get targeted more. Best athlete on the team, IMO. May be bc Shaw and Barrow are so efficient, they don't need to use him. Would like to see him play more when we get near the end zone and utilize his height/size.
What does that even mean? ??? BTW-That Freshmen basketball team is very talented. I would guess they see a great opportunity to specialize in one sport. Hard to play FB AND BB. I know it can be done, but it takes a special athlete to be successful at both.

Nederland is used to not only beating them, but going on to winning district or sharing it.. The group returning is full of seniors who can compete with anyone when the stakes are high enough.. They got plenty of weapons, tons of skill, all the experience, yet they are still suppose to be a notch below central, and even ozen... Brian will have these bulldogs ready to make a run! Regardless of what people want to believe
BD3 just trying to start stuff with us bc he knows you, me, and 5on5 will defend our Dawgs to the end. Central folks won't argue with him, so he tries to get us excited, and I'm okay with that.  ;) He won't admit it, but deep down, he knows Nederland has a good chance for a 4th straight District Title.  8) The difference between our team from last year is experience and confidence. Last year, we returned 0 starters, and only 2 players who came off the bench who contributed (English and Weisbrod). This year, we return 4 starters and 5 others who played Varsity last year. Expectations are high in Big Ned, and I believe these kids are up to the challenge.
Lol! I thought you wrote, " he knows Nederland has a good chance ..... for a 4th spot."  Sorry! Don't know anyone named Seay? The three players who play FB and BB are: Colton Kimler 6'3" Koby Couron 6'4" DeShawn Washington 6'4 Doesn't matter though bc BD3 just informed us all that Central will win state this year, so why show up?  Seay was on freshman team last year but would probably join the other 3 listed on varsity this year
Ok. Don't know him (yet). Is he a Guard? Post? Forward?

 22.
One of them was not all of them. Its just like last year when they could have played for the district title outright but instead let Nederland go in as the 1st seed. And again they chose to go there with 6 players and at the end of the day are you satisfied with just showing up and beating Yates. The mentality has to change amongst our young athletes, are we teaching them that if you win a couple of games and beat a great team its ok if you dont play wanna anymore ,cause you proved your point. 23.
