Good try Coach Mathews...LOL
Little did he (Deroun) know that we wanted to kill that night regardless...Did they even cross the 50 that night.. ;)
Nope!

 4.
There was some good competition there.  Teams got an early look on some of their players. PA Memorial was 1 - 2.  Beat Hightower and lost to Elsik and Eisenhower.  PA Memorial will be okay.  They are young and learning everyday.
I like the way Lott and Chapman play. Don't know the names of other kids. Would love to see PAM return the glory days of Lincoln.
 5.
3-4 of Texas Tech's players wanted to transfer to Lamar to play under Knight. Knight told them no.
Wonder why? Didn't Lamar lose a lot from last year's SLC Champ team? Were they 'bad kids'? Just curious.
 6.
Not too many coaches travelling in S.E.Texas to watch any talent unless its football.
True. However, for the last two seasons, D1 coaches/recruiters have visited Nederland during The Bulldog Classic. Granted they were there to see Houston area players. The Bulldog Classic should attract a D1 scout this year too.

 8.
I know Kelly beat what I  was told was pretty much Vidor's varsity in a close game.  The early games were listed as jv don't know anything about those and we left early in the Nederland/Memorial game. Which was definitely Nederland's top 6 or 7 players.  How many starters do they have back? I saw at least 3 or 4 players that I recognized.
4
 9.

Auto correct WOS Tigers take out Nederland in the first game 60-36. Tigers have 2 varsity players from last year playing as well as another that played varsity party of the year.
Yes, I do know that Thomas, the transfer from PA Memorial is back in Silsbee. So three varsity players (Dobbins, Thomas and Wilson) playing with JV'ers and freshmen. My question, is that Nederlands varsity or JV?
It was Ned JV. Ned varsity playing PAM tonight.
 10.
Central has all the experience, height and talent. They will float on air when district play starts. They truly will have a mega team this season. According to a couple of  reports I've gotten from this weekend (after GASO tourney this weekend) is that Houston & surrounding area teams are really watered down this season with lack of talent. 4-A is prime for a Beaumont team like Central to go a long way. In fact, maybe we should just give Central the district crown now. :-\
Who are you, and what did you do with BlueDove?? BlueDove, if you are reading this, someone hijacked your account.  ;D
What I know for certain: Tournaments YMBL Nederland Sherman Some non district games: Ozen Central Livingston Fred Williams Classic (probably West Brook or PAM) Couple of Houston ISD's  ;)
Another non district game is Big Ned traveling up to Silsbee. Not sure of the date, U?
 12.
Just now able to post my observations on the game yesterday. You guys have one heck of a football team over there. Big and strong kids. Gave us all we wanted. We needed a game like that after the BWood game. So many turnovers on your side and all those dang penalties on us and still went down to the wire. The Bulldog secondary pretty much put the clamps on our passing game and Coach Roark adjusted some after the half and pounded the rock just enough to get some scores and pull it out. Hats off to the Nederland HC to go for the win after closing 32-31 instead of the tie. Our defense made the big play there. And what about that rain! That stuff was coming down sideways. :o Glad it slowed up some to play the second half. Anyways good luck the rest of the year and hope to see the Dogs in the playoffs. Also hope the injured players get healthy. We had our best DB, which is also our fastest kid, get injured and only played the first half. I think he has bruised ribs. He'll be sore the next couple of days , but he'll be fine. Was a very physical game.
I was afraid about #9 all night. He could be VERY dangerous if y'all can get him the ball. I know y'all tried a few times early, but the Ned DBs made great plays. He's probably 6'3", fast, and a big frame on him. He is a great weapon to have for sure.
 13. 63-10 Final. Not pretty. I knew they were good, but wow!!
 14. 315.5 hours until kickoff, and we are already on page 6. Grab a drink and some snacks, sit back and enjoy cheap entertainment (no offense)!

My prediction was a 32-31 Angleton win.
If it weren't for the last second 40 yd TD on 4th down, you would have nailed it! Angleton coaches were mad that he scored, bc it actually gave Ned :30 to try to tie up the game.
Um...no they weren't.
Two of the coaches wanted him to go down so the clock would run out. Maybe you didn't see them react, but it happened.
Yeah I know, but I'm impatient.  I guess I need to find something else to do next Friday night.  :D
Ron White is in town!  ;D
Agreed! Non district game on the road, why not go for it? If we convert the 2pt conversion, he's a genius, right?

 20. Hats off to Angleton. They were very good!
