Nederland (say what you will) won 29 games this year. Just bc Nederland is not considered to be 'athletic' doesn't mean they aren't good. Anyway, Ozen (according to those in 'the know') was not very talented this year. Clearly no D1 players like Ozen is accustomed to in the past. So to make it this far says SOMETHING positive about Coach Saveat. Y'all got spoiled during those 10 years or so with a good coach and TONS of talent. Y'all have obviously forgotten the years before Ozen existed that Beaumont schools were not making yearly trips to Austin.

[/quote] Come on Nash, the district was Down again for the third straight year. We all know that is the only reason that Nederland has been at the top of the district standings these past few years. Just because they have 90% of their team coming back next year, means nothing.  ::) PA Bees made some sense, but Ned JV finished 3rd (not 5th as he stated) in district. Only one game out of 2nd and 2 games out of 1st. Our freshman team was just average this year, but the CO Wilson eighth grade team really shined. Oh, and I didn't know you had to have people who can 'break you down' to win?? ??? ;D I'm sure there will be plenty of reasons next year as to why Nederland won district again, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.  ::) ::)

[/quote] After Ned beat Ozen earlier in district, I commented on here that Ozen is better than Central, and that Ozen scared me. Not many people agreed with me. I also said that they will beat Central (the following week), and they did. Some of US knew!  ;) After scouting Humble, Coach English predicted that Ozen would beat them.

Where is the hype for the Ozen game against Houston Jones? What does Jones have? Who wins?? It's kinda sad that nobody is discussing this game!! These kids have worked hard and survived all odds... Where are the Ozen fans??

Although we bring back most of our team, including our best two players, we will be lacking in height. Not that we were huge this year, but we are losing a 6'5" senior in Lubera. We have 2 other 6'4" kids who came off the bench this year who also return. Hopefully they can find some time to work on their game during the offseason since they are both football first guys. Who knows, maybe someone will grow 4-5" over the summer!  ;D Kimler came on strong at the end of the year, and he will be a huge asset next season with his athleticism. He has the tools, but he is also a football first guy.
