1. End of 1st: Lumberton 11 Nederland 15 Ned was up 13-4, but let Lumberton claw their way back into the game. Dawgs playing with some fire tonight!
 2.
absolutely why would you even ask... its to honor your country
It was brought up on another thread about a team not placing their hand over their heart. Someone spoke their mind about it, and stated the school district should do something about it.
 3.

Another question, do you put your right hand or your left hand over your heart like Obama does? ;) ;D
Liar, he uses both hands.
AAW doesn't even have to watch Fox News to get that information.  ;)
 4.
All of Ozen players have played this season at one time or another. Personally, I think Ozen has gotten better because they actually have less players now than in the beginning and it gives the players the opportunity to stay in a rhythm with more playing time and continuity.
I agree. I think most coaches do the same. They usually use a bigger rotation earlier in the year to see who can help the team later in the year. Then they stream-line it when District play begins, and more so in the playoffs. That continuity is key to success.
 5. Do you place your hand over your heart during The National Anthem? This topic was brought up bc some players were not doing so before a game last week. I think everyone places their hand over their heart during The Pledge of Allegiance, but it seems less people do so during the NA. Ur thoughts?
 6.
Are you absolutely positive that it is a requirement to salute the flag when indoors, even in uniform?
I always place my hand over my heart, but many people don't. I think more people place their hand over their heart for the Pledge of Allegiance. I realize that is something we all did in school growing up, but I would guess that about 50% of people do it for the National Anthem? I'll start a Poll.
 7.
Good win for Ozen, bit I would like to add something to this.  I'm VERY upset at the Ozen coaching staff.  It was senior night.  There were seniors that didn't get a chance to play that havnt played all year. I think ALL seniors should at least start on senior night or get signifficant playing time. No disrespect to PN-G, but Ozen has enough talent across the board to have beaten them with any startig linup.  Horrible move, Ozen!
That is unbelievable! Most schools that I know start 5 Seniors on Sr. Night (if they have 5), and allow EVERY Senior to play, if they have more than 5. Different in every situation, but either way, coaches get them on the court for that game. Also, are you saying that some players on the team have not played all season long?
 8.
That's like me saying, "yeah, you know Vidor who Ozen has beaten 97 out of 100 times...."  ;)
It's kinda expected for Ozen to beat , so those 3 times was a big deal. Anyway, Soulja brought it up.  :-\

He was the best shooter i've seen come through Vidor in a while.
Yes, Cole was a starting underclassmen on that senior laden Vidor team that Beat Ozen 3 times in 1 year.  After all of those seniors left, Cole came into his own as a clutch player.  Although that team really wasn't as good as the year before, Cole commanded attention close to the end of games.
Noah did not start on the team who beat Ozen 3 times in 2004, but he did come off the bench for quality minutes. George did not even start on that team as a Junior until later that season. Vidor made the playoffs in Noah's Soph and JR seasons but fell one game short of the playoffs his senior year. He did not have a lot of help his Senior year.
MUST you put emphasis on "the team that beat Ozen 3 times in 2004"? ::) ::) ::) 8)
Just stating the facts!  ;D

When the game was on the line, there was no doubt Coach English was going to him.
He was after George. He was only a sophomore when George was a senior. And if i remember right Cole was not to far behind Williamson on the ppg.
I remember Noah very well. Watched him play all 3 years. He was special in his own way, but when it comes to who I would want taking a last second shot to win a game, IMO, George is the man for that. I really don't think you can go wrong with either player.
 12. If Manvel AND Yates win their respective districts, they will not meet until the Regional Finals. The runner up in 24-4A (currently P. Dawson) will play Yates in the 2nd round.

 14. This is really hard for me to admit, but I have to say that DV is making sense tonight, and I agree with his last 3-4 comments.
 15. What happens in a 3way tie between OF/WOS/HF or Ned/Central/Ozen?
 16. In addition, Dionte Fourney started attending Nederland schools in the 6th grade. Chris Cunningham in 7th or 8th, Mike Mitchell in 8th grade, and Kelvin Smith in 9th grade (from PNG not PA).
 17. No. Jamiere has been attending Nederland schools since the 1st grade.
but you know the lions have come alive in recent weeks. they are not the same team that has been bitten twice already.
Galveston Ball also beat LaMarque twice last year in the regular season. LaMarque won the 3rd matchup to advance to the State Tourney in 4A before losing in the Finals.
You paint the picture as though they have so many liabilities.  If so, how is their record what it is?  Furthermore, I think you are over enamored with "creating your own shot".  THere are a lot more "creators" out there than there are scorers.  When we played your team, I can promise you that one of the largest problems you had was one player trying to "create" too often.  As for the spot up shooters, if they are good ones, they have the ability to remove the defenders from helping out at all.  Didn't Bobby KNight pretty well document the fact that you dont need a lot of one on one expertise to have a good team?
It's rather comical that some on this board cannot accept Nederland's style of play as being good. Ned loses one game, and suddenly we are just not that good.  ::) Let them continue trying to break down our team, and we'll just continue winning games.  ;)
No, no, no.  Make no mistake, they're good.  I never denied that at all.  They are #1 inthe district for a reason. They are good at what they do.  All I did was just broke down what I see in this Nederland team.  I'm sure that some of you have broken down my team after seeing them a few times.
I haven't tried to break down Central, and I've seen y'all play 7-8 times. It seems that every game I've seen has been different than the one before. Some games y'all have looked scary good and other times not so much. There has not been a consistent pattern with Central dueing the games I have seen this year. Sometimes y'all win games with great defense, sometimes shooting well from outside. Sometimes winning on the boards makes a difference. I think Central beats themselves most of the time bc sometimes they try to do too much individualy (not just one player either).
When Lafleur was a freshman and Straface was a senior, Lafleur had to bring the ball down the court against Lincoln’s full court press because Straface could not handle the ball as well.  Straface was a very good shooter but not the all around player Lafleur was.
That may be true, but this thread is not about who is a better player than the next guy, it is about who is considered to be clutch players. And I believe they were both clutch players.
