1. Need to make a correction. The technical fouls occurred with two min remaining in the 3rd, not the middle of the 2nd...

I said it before...Central's team and coaches will feel the pressure in a close game in the 4th, will not make the adjustments, will not make the plays, will not make free throws, Nederland will play disciplined, smart ball.....and will win by 10
But so many are saying that Central is so much more talented that the talent will trump disciplined, smart ball.  Right Dove?  ( I just can't figure out why that same talent did not prevail in the first game)
It did prevail in the first game. Central won it by 3 on Nederland's floor.  Nederland won the second matchup in district on their floor.
Talent did NOT win the 1st game for Central. Nederland lost their cool MENTALLY, and it cost them the game. Nederland stayed mentally focused in the game that counts (district game) and won big. *See my post from a few days ago regarding what happened: Quote Remember though, Ned was up by 14 in that game in the middle of the 2nd Q, then this happened: -Central made a bucket, lead 12 -Central steals ball (no foul called), Ned player gets upset. Tech called. -Central makes both FTs, lead 10 -Central makes 2 more FTs from the foul, lead 8 -Central makes a 2 point shot, lead 6 -Ned misses a shot on the other end. -Central makes 2 more, lead down to 4 for Ned. All of the sudden, it's halftime, and Central has the momentum and is PUMPED! Ned heads to the locker room with heads down and demoralized. End Quote. The 1st meeting was heading toward a blowout win by Ned.the Dawgs don't make that mistake tomorrow night. Central's home court edge will keep it close. Ned wins 47-42

True Dove, I feel all truth will be told within the next couple of weeks ,based on the adjustments made the second time you face a team.
I agree.
From what I understand, the Central and Ozen coaches don't make the necessary adjustments. That is just what I have picked up from others on this board. Central collapsed in the last meeting against Ned, but I thought Ozen played good enough to win the game. Nederland just made more plays when it was crunch time. I did not see anything wrong with Ozen's philosophy in that 1st meeting. U?
 5. Their ability to  [s]recruit[/s]  err, convince kids to transfer will diminish IMO, bc some kids may view 3A as a 'smaller stage' which could limit their college opportunities.
 6.
Yes, we faked it in the second half last time.  ;D  ;) I have placed hot coal in  Central Staff's seat, so 'He' will be walking the baseline all night instead of sitting there.  ;) ;)
;D ;D ;D ;D
 7.
I AM EXPECTING TWO VERY GOOD GAMES BETWEEN BOTH NED./OZEN AND NED /CENTRAL I THINK IT WILL BE HIGH SCHOOL BB AT IT"S BEST,DONT KNOW IF THEY CAN TOP HJ/SILSBEE SERIES.
No way. Not enough bad blood between Ned and the Bmt schools. The Central/Ozen rivalry is probably not too far away from that level of basketball rivalry, but that's just what I've heard. I have never been to a Ozen/Central matchup. I don't think Ozen and Central have ever played against each other in the playoffs like HJ/Silsbee. Silsbee/HJ is just on a whole other level. Kinda like PNG/NED in football.
 8.
would I be considered a 'doubter'?  Lol
No. You are a supporter of your Jags. I would be disappointed in you if you picked Nederland to win the game Friday night!  :) And I would question your motive.
 9.
Some of these same predictions were made last year.  :o
And regardless of Friday's outcome against Central, there will still be plenty of doubters.  ::) That's fine, bc all it does is fuel the fire. Keep on proving them wrong!!
 10.
Granted I have only seen the kid play twice, Zach English does not stand out to me as one of the top ten players in the area. He may not turn the ball over, but as from what I have seen, he is not that much of a threat unless he is posted up from behind the three point line. He is definitely not a better player than Zjori Bosha nor Devante Johnson, who I feel are probably top ten-fifteen in the area. What are your thoughts?
He is actually more dangerous when he penetrates. He can create a shot by driving, and he finishes strong. He shoots 8-10 FTs/game bc he gets fouled frequently while driving to the hoop. He's not 'explosive' like Prudhomme. He has deceptive speed, which allows him to beat his man when he has to. He is dangerous from beyond the arc, as you mentioned, but all 11 of his points last night were from driving to the hole.
If they played another team similar to them, the score would not be in the 100s
Yates lost in the playoffs last year to LaMarque 103-94. I don't know LaMarque's style of play, but I'm guessing it's a similar style of play??

He had enough of the WWE wrestling. 3 min
Come on,keep it real, he got a tech for mouthing off to the ref for calling his foot on the line while shooting a free throw. I was there, it was a physical game but clean.
Yes, very physical game. I never said anything about it not being a 'clean game'. I was there too, both teams played very physical and aggressive.

HE has spoken!  ;D
Hey man, you will STILL be in 1st place though!! ;)
Winning District is icing on the cake (who doesn't want icing though?). What you do in the playoffs is MOST important when measuring SEASON success. Playing in the toughest Region in the stateimages it that more challenging to make the State Tourney. 8 teams are currently ranked in the Top 25 from Reg III, with Nederland sitting at number 9 (27). Making the Regional Tourney this year is a realistic goal, but we need to focus on one game at a time.
