I don't follow baseball much, but I believe Ned baseball has made the state tourney 2-3 times, and played in the Title game once. People think of Nederland and football, but this past Fall was the 1st District Title since the mid 60's? Maybe BadDog can confirm those stats?

I can tell you exactly why he got tossed. Taunting! It was his 2nd Tech of the game, so that's why he went to the locker room early. Some people just don't have the discipline to make a great play then just keep playing the game. There is no room for taunting in sports.

Now next year, like the Texans, we'll have a much higher bar set, and expectations will be much higher. Now that the topic is on the table, I will predict at least 2 playoff victories. 3 (wins) would send us back to the regional tourney, which I honestly would not be completely surprised if that happens. I know many of you would be surprised, but not me.  8)

Perkins Keenan Young Brandon Chappel Willie Jefferson DeCarlos Franks Since Ozen has been 'down' over the past two season, like they were in 2004, Nederland would still have a 27 game district winning streak. I am not disregarding what Boutte did during his time, it was amazing. Nobody on this thread has said differently. But during his ONE down year, VIDOR swept them 3-0. For the 4th time, the kind of talent Ozen has now was just the same in 2004, when Coach E's team went 3-0 against Boutte. The same would happen with this Ozen team. Here is the truth: In 2004, Ozen had as much (prob more) talent than Vidor. V had one 6'7" player, and the other 4 starters were ALL under 6'. George did NOT even start that year. In that ONE year where the teams were equally talented, Coach E's Vidor went 3-0 against Boutte's Ozen Panthers. Since this year and last year's talent in Ozen is about what it was that 2004 year, there is nothing suggesting that Ned would not be on a 27 game district winning streak. Remember, THAT is what we r debating here. This is my closing statement your honor.

I posted 3 statements regarding these FACTS about Vidor's talent pool, but u have yet to acknowledge the FACTS I provided.

Who cares what the score was? Have you ever seen any of Coach E's team's blow many people out? Just not his style. Could have scored 100 on Vidor Tuesday, but called off the 'Dawgs'! Last time I checked, a W is a W. Ok, fine. Not a lot of talent in Ozen the past 2 seasons. Say what you want, but are you seriously telling me that Nederland is overflowing with talent? Did you see Smith and Cunningham and the PG from last year when they were Freshman? And I NEVER downplayed what Boutte accomplished, it was phenomenal. But it doesn't mean that Nederland's win streak would still not be sitting at 27 today if Boutte were still the coach! You admitted that the 2004 team AND the past 2 Ozen team's were not full of talent. Vidor beat Ozen when they had 'less talent', and Ned also beat Ozen with 'less talent'. Now IF, IF a player like Perk was on those team's, I would say, you're right, Ned would not be on a 27 game win streak. But you admitted that Ozen was 'down' the past 2 seasons, and Coach E beat Ozen in 2004 3 times in one season with a 'down' team. So since Ozen has been 'down' the past 2 years, I don't think it would have made a difference if Boutte was the coach or not.
