  1. For the Bryant family of Bridge City. Buccaneers Kicker and BC grad Matt Bryant's infant son Matthew passed away today. Bucs' general manager Bruce Allen issued the following statement: "The entire Buccaneer family is deeply saddened by this tragedy. The Bryants have been an inspiration to our entire community through their commitment to their family and their exhaustive efforts working with children and those in need in the Bay area. Our thoughts and prayers are with Matt and Melissa during this difficult time." i cant imagine losing a child especially with that kind of profession that is so demanding of time away from home. Prayers from houston.
  2. 665 days after the last bridge city win we get another one and the first of the stump era. happy for all the guys and the school i know everyones excited. CONGRATS BC PLAYERS COACHES AND ALL FANS. LETS KEEP THIS GOING
  3. if you didnt like this you deffinately wouldnt have liked what tarver offered to us two years ago. he said he would let us vote on a solid red helmet w/ white numbers on it or a white bc. but we kept the white. and for the record call me crazy but i kinda like this move by stump. these were the helmet designs when we won our one and only state championship correct? no way we're winning state this year but i like the thought process. change from bottom to top.
  4. bc football rapid decline explanation??? how about graduation? and bc has been on national news twice for bad things, and on the local news many times. so does bc get anything covered up? not a chance. when you drive down a street in reverse going less that 20 mph on a dead street...and get arrested and have your name and picture plastered all over the news and suspended for part of the season, that is certainly not an example of something getting "covered up" quite frankly im tired of any mistake made by a bc kid getting blown out of proportion and that kid having to justify himself after being blasted on message boards and newspapers. not to say what happened in this case was not wrong, because it is, but hes paid his due and is being punished accordingly and the law is the only thing he should have to answer to. so please dont call his future into question. congratulate him and move on. lord knows some of the people on this board probably have worse skeletons in their closet than this....and werent and never will be caught.
  5. hope he plays in the secondary...after last year uh sure needs some quality db's ..and i hope to see silsbee's bk get some playing time this year
  6. he should be allowed to think this over for as long as he wants...its hs this isnt like college or professional where the more time you take hiring someone the less time they have to get to work....the only thing that needs work done on it right away is the field but my point is waiting a little while right after the season isnt as devastating in hs....no recruiting...no fall ball...no free agents to look at...no salaries to rearrange....no draft. just the summer. if this were like october and we still dont have a head coach then that would be bad but its not even july yet i'd rather them take their time and hire who they want and who they need than them rush into something they might regret later
  7. if its between the names mentioned....its a win win win for bc....whenever theres a hire, it'll be a good day for bc baseball no matter who it is because all three are qualified candidates. oh happy day in bc!
  8. yea i understand....you're a hypocrite...you call people out for continuing bashing on people and talking about politics yet you just cant let it go...and all the while you add fuel to the fire....i think that about covers it for me. lets call it what it is. if you really dont like all this talk...then certainly you shouldnt be adding to it. hypocritical
  9. you're right buc3 that doesnt happen, i dont remember that happening but i'll take your word for it.
  10. vidor is not a better job than the bc job..you have to look at the past/present/ and also the long term. bc's history and recent success speaks volumes over vidors baseball prowess, and the future will always be there for bc as we keep spitting out quality players, and theres not enough to convince me that the future in vidor is as bright as the future in bc...and believe me bc may only be getting stronger in the next 5-10 years. but i can see why he would want to stay in vidor and that is that he has built it basically from the ground up and has got to be proud of that, heck i would...so he probably said to himself "why not keep a good thing going?" when all the dust is settled i just hope whoever bc hires is the right man for the job for the kids and community's sake
  11. coach bryant didnt really help anyone get a scholarship...yet always got upset when the players signed and had media there w/ out doing it his way.... and stang4life...if you dont like baseball then why are you in this hs baseball thread?? i think its BECAUSE of the "politics" side of it which you claim to hate the most....yet you are still here taking shots and joining the game...no pun intended.
  12. big red machine out of bc has a 7u team he can try out for.....there is currently a 6 year old on that team, and they will move on but there will be a new batch of 7 year olds to be on that team and im sure the coaches would be happy for him to come and try out.
  13. eric crouch qb nebraska??
