I do not want to pour gas on a fire, but let me ask this question. Why is Silsbee being blasted for beating a team so soundly? I am just asking that is all.

would you want your varsity team playing a jv team because you know you cant compete with their varsity? wow you just dont listen...i said play up for more competition to get your kids ready for the next level i never said play down your just arguing for argument sake. and your absolutely right silsbees jv would beat both of those teams. i think westrbooks freshmen could give hf a game. on a side note i really would like to see silsbee and st thomas jv play each other it would be a great game im going back to what you originally said... i always agree to play up.. but i dont know of any varsity team that would agree to play a jv team... it just wouldnt be right... what if they lost... it would be way more embarassing than losing to a way better varsity team I was personally involved with a varsity team playing a JV. Back in 1980, I was on Silsbee's JV and Spurger varsity needed a game for their homecoming(Spurger doesn't play football, therefore they have their homecoming in basketball) We agreed to play them and well, to make a long story short, we killed them, 122-35. I will never forget that game for many reasons. I remember that game ;D ;D ;D

Very few players that showed up???? What the??? Were they suppose to find their own transportation down here? Don't they travel as a team? Actually, this really doesn't suprise me. : Didn't their coach leave a player in Austin a couple of yrs ago after the state tourney. If they lose to Nederland he may leave the whole team here

The only person we have to worry about in district is HJ other than that Silsbee will go to the play-offs and will play in the regional finals and then that game should tell us if we will win state........ I usually agree with you, but you have to worry about every team and every game that you play. Just look at what happened to Ozen against Kelly. The Tigers just need to keep working hard and improving day by day.
