Kountze was talking alot of smack, but they were backed by the AP writers picking them to win the district and up until 2 weeks ago, they were still receiving votes to make it into the 2A Top 10. They have played some hard fought games, definately not taking anything from the Lions.

Buna played in Lufkin last year, nice stadium (Abe Martin), but this year you gotta go with PNG's updated stadium. How many people will be calling them to host a game? Might have to have a 4:00, 7:00 on Friday night, then all day on Saturday.

blade_65 must be a Warrior. Anahuac is playing good football. Warren has had a bit of a struggle. Gotta go with the Wack in this one.

Kountze has played one tough game after another, East Chambers has been up and down. Tough one to call...good luck to each team.

Head over to Silsbee at 4:00 pm, we'll see how good Anahuac is. They have Kountze there, due to Kountzes field problems. How good is the Anahuac / Buna game gonna be? Not to overlook Hardin, I am just not sure thay have the defense to stop Buna. They may score, but I don't believe enough.

Why would Deweyville coaches allow the players to stab the Pirate flag into our field anyway? As a coach, you never want to give the opposing team more fuel for the fire, correct?

You have got to be kidding right? No class? How dare your boys put their flag in the middle of our field! That is completely classless, no respect! PLease, you got an old fashioned whoopin', take it, move on to next week. #3 and #4 ran hard for the Pirates, but just couldn't crack the Coogs defense. Buna RB 's by committee continue to get the job done, Clark, Baker, both Crafts, Sheppard controlling the ball.

How about moving the game to Saturday afternoon or night? Back to the reason this post was started, how about the Newton backs? Birch is something else also. First saw him as a sophomore. After he broke one down the sidelines on us, my first thought was, "Wow, Newton has a fast white boy!", my second thought was, "Wow, Newton has a fast white boy!".

Do you know that after dropping their first 2 district games, Kountze still got 6 votes by the AP in this weeks class 2A poll? Does Kountze have some writer support or what? Wish both teams well.

Where is it scheduled to be at? Newton or Kirbyville?

No offense to any Kountze fans or players, because they have played 2 gritty district ballgames, but how did they get 6 votes by te writers for the 2A Top 10 AP Poll this week (they did not make the top 10). You can lose 2 consecutive district games, and still get votes???? Anyone have an answer.

I would love to see the Newton / Kirbyville game, maybe they should move that game to a Saturday night, so more of Southeast Texas can see it. Maybe move it to PNG or Silsbee. Game of the year.

No doubt, can't wait to see the Panthers in a few weeks, as well as the Hornets, Bucs and Pirates. Gotta love this district. Fight to the finish. Hopefully Craft will be back in the next few weeks for Buna.

Please reread my post, I don not believe I ever dissed another team. I try to not do that. Those kind of posts could turn into bulletin board material. I totally respect Kirbyville and every other team in the area. There are very few boys out there on Friday night not giving 100%. But what I did say, was that Buna "have the most formidable group of running backs", poor choice with most, I should have worded it "has a very formidable". Sorry for the mistalk. Respect from Buna to all area RB's and teams...And for PiratesDad4410, when did we whine, and when did we not earn any respect? Ya'll don't respect our team? Not sure what your post has to do with anything.

100 yards is not bad, never said that. But if he was such a hoss, wouldn't he have carried you to a win at Anahuac? This is 2A football, anything can happen on any given night. That is why you will seldom find me predicting or talking smack about whoopin' up on certain teams. High school football and especially this distirct is too hard to predict. Mitch is an excellent RB and we can't wait to see him later this season.

Seems like ths post was started for some self-gratification by the Hardin boys. If Mitch is the man, why did he only have 100 yards against Anahuac? He still has to lineup against Buna, Kountze and Deweyville. No doubt, the EC game was big for him and congrats on one helluva game. Once again this district is shaping up to be an anybodys' guess as to who makes the playoffs. Good luck to all 23-2A teams!

I guess BIG_BOB has yet to play Buna. I think what my man Buna Baseball 13 was trying to point out was that we may not have the best RB (although, when healthy, Mr. Craft can really move it), but we have the most formidable group of backs in the area. Most teams have one or 2, we have probably 6, if you include QB Clark. Give the undefeated Coogs a bit of respect out there.
