1. I agree that the scoreboard needs to be replaced as well as the sound system. I feel the lights along the sidelines need to be more focused onto the court and not so much into the stands.  Sitting in the lower side-court, you get a glare from the lights from across the way.  Being an amateur photographer, I have noticed that some other arenas Rice, UT, and even Katy, Merrell Center, have better lighting. Most people would not notice, but the photos tell the tell.
 2.
This is pathetic.  And, honestly, that isn't a strong enough term.   I agree with you, Cards.  Roc's lineup decisions are arbitrary and at this point appear to be driven by either spite or complete, bipolar desperation. I'll make it clear: if you look at my post from the end of last year, I was OK with giving Roc one more year.  I wasn't one of the folks dying to run him out of town after last season, unacceptable as it was.  I wanted to see Roc succeed: he bleeds Lamar red, he works hard, this was the job he wanted, and, yes, he had a quality rep as a recruiter.  I really hoped that he would get the job done. It was clear he felt the pressure: he went out and recruited a boatload of scorers.  I was happy--a lack of shooters to me was the biggest problem the team had the last two years.  The guys were athletic, more so than I had seen at Lamar in my time watching them.  But what has happened this year only serves to validate every criticism hurled at Roc by his detractors over the last few years.  With the talent on this team, there is no excuse for this team not to be in the top 2 or 3 in the conference.  To finish out of the conference tournament--again--is so far beyond "unacceptable" it isn't even funny.  In reality, I'm not sure what has happened in the last three weeks doesn't justify *immediate* termination--the season is lost, and at this point, I think Roc is more likely to go Bob Knight (the chair-throwing, player-choker--not the player-graduating tactical guru) than turn this thing around. I've been a basketball season ticket holder for fifteen years.  At no time did the thought of not renewing my season tickets *ever* cross my mind.  Not after last year.  Not during the Deane era.  Never.  Not once.  Just in case any of the powers that be read this board, I will make it clear: if Roc is back to coach this team next year, I will not be back.  I do not demand success every year--even the greatest coaches, coaching at the most reputable schools, have had bad years.  On the other hand, I *do* demand a commitment to excellence: an understanding that LU will do its utmost to make the programs at LU as competitive as possible.  If they bring back a coach who has demonstrated immaturity, incompetency, and incoherence, I must make the assumption that LU doesn't really want to win--and that I can not accept, nor do I feel any obligation to support it.
You have my Facebook "like" with some other posters here. I too have been ticket holders for years and with the new players brought in this year, seeing them practice felt that this was a going to be a great year and even years to look forward to. Being enthused, talked to friends and neighbors about the team, only with egg on my face, again. This makes it hard to be a enthusiastic Lamar fan and wear the red and white, in some way, everyday. When I think of the missed fan support from the football fans, if we had lived up to the expectations.  I spoke to football fans, who had not gone to BB games and was very interested in continuing there Lamar fan experience.  We, after seeing the BB team early, told them of what we expected.  I would say we had no gain in fan base from football, the fact is, we have loss fans and will continue to lose fans.  I will continue to support the Lady Cards and not just the athelitic programs, but the University with wearing the colors. Roc needs to go!!!!
 3. Another disappointing loss.  Somebody else made a career high score at Lamar expense. I thought I would post it here, to bump this poll thread to the top.
 4. Yes, rants can be constructive if done with the respect of your players.  Roc has shown that he is not capable of coaching, frustrating himself and the team sees this and is frustrated too.
 5.
How dare a coach for fussing at his players for losing?
Well, if you have the respect of your players it can be effective.  Roc's rants are counter productive.
 6.
The talent level has been an upgrade. I have to give Rocaforte credit for the level of athlete he has brought in. Problem has been once they get here he breaks their will and can't put them in a position to win! Some of the plaers he has recruited that we had not had in years before: Lamar Sanders James Davis (left early) Darren Hopkins Kenny Dawkins Jay Nabors Devon Lamb (love his energy) Mike James (Talented, but plays a little outta control) I counted 7 different guys that have scored 20+ points in a game this year for LU. I doubt that many teams in the country can say that. We have the talent!
I agree with you.  And I think that it is interesting you say he "breaks their will", I also agree.  As I stated before about his rants, he likes to show its my way or not way.  One of the open practices, before the season started, we saw a great practice, salivated as to what we saw, excited about the season.  At the end of that practice he had them run the suicide drill, of course it would also be for conditioning, but why he ranted and belittled them, I don't know.  On the way out someone, met us going out and said he wished he had not seen that. We agreed.  Which is another thing, how many to you believe will be back next year, if Roc stays.
 7. Another disappointing loss.  Chances to win numerous times.  But got out coached, definitely.  No defense when we needed it.  They shot or drove the basket at will.  Another thing that was glaring was some very bad refs. Just my opinion...just saying...they used the replay to check the final shot, but I would like to see the out of bounds play under our basket.  I thought it was out of bounds on them and we should had the ball.
 8. Kerry, I assume your talking about the men, a sinking ship. I think the Lady Cards don't get the respect they deserve and alway overlooked.
 9.

I am confused. Are we giving him the axe or are we giving him the boot? ;) ;D
The boot. I don't want to insult Roc, he did graduate from LU. I just don't think he is a fit for our program. Hopefully he finds something at another school and leaves on his own, that would let him leave with dignity.
I like that, that sounds reasonable.
 10.
ESPN said Lamar's name in an article about it. Must be official Read to the bottom [Hidden Content]
Tidwell mention this on his radio show tonight, he said no one has contacted him about this.  How can ESPN make it OFFICIAL, when the person that should be the source has not been contacted? I am not saying it will not happen, I hope it does.
 11. "Heard from a solid source...."  Well, according to Tidwell, it don't look like it is too solid.
 12. The rants......players get real motivated with rants.
 13. i wonder if anyone noticed Allen Daniels on the bench with D-Hop?
 14. Great win for the Lady Cards!!!!! I don't think Taylor Hays played, is she the one injured? I sure hope not, she was missed in this game.
 15.

Why did Adams only play like 2 minutes in the 2nd half???  He was hot in the 1st half!!!! Not sure of his rotation strategies..........don't think he knows either!!!
Besides Adams and James I wondered about Lamb, I don't think he got in enough the second half. Harper on facebook said he may have sprained MCL or maybe a fracture. I hope it is not serious. I questioned the rotation myself. BTW, I think Lamar is the only college team in the country that has a 52 point player coming off the bench. ;) Roc simply got out coached in those last two minutes.
From what I have read it is that way every game...........
My bad my comments were put in with AggiesAreWe. The only thing I want to add right now is the Roc is making it harder to be a Lamar fan and wear the red and white promoting Lamar.
 16. I think Roc want to not show what we have for conference.  He wants to surprise our competition ;) I liked it better when there was no defense......just shot, it was more fun to watch maybe we will be hotter them and win. At the beginning of this season the team had the swagger you like to see.  Roc has taken the spirit out of them with his psychotic rants.  After the last open practice, which we saw was a electrifying scoring affair he had the team do suicide sprints.  We were slow about getting out of there and did not like what I saw. I kind of passed it off as just being a coach. But you get enough of that and you get negative results
 17. I think the priest gave up on him too.  I don't think he was there tonight. We have seen the team at it's best during the early season, the practices were electrifying.  Roc and his  tactics stifle the team.  Why he would not let them go, and at least run and gun with them maybe something would happen, let them shoot. I agree with geezer, on all points.  Roc does not know how to coach and during the game the asst. coach a useless, other than keeping stats.  Roc does not consult, he just jumps in with a game plan and it turns out bad and you wonder what is on his mind.  Some of the comments on fb of players is they are ready to go home for holidays and maybe that has had some effect.  We have had the pre-conference season,(well almost complete). We still have the conference game to get things turned around. But it they do, I don't think there will be anyone there to watch them.
 18. Vomit, vomit, gag, gag!!!! Northwestern State beat them by 12 on the 19th.
 19.
I think this really sucks. I have listened to Roc for five years and he always says the same BS and gets the same results. Some coaches have the great art of getting the best out of not so great talent. Seems Roc has the nack for getting the worst out of good players. I think his motivation tactics are non-existent.
Based on mine interaction with some on the team and watching some of the practices, I don't like his motivation tactics.  As with some young people on Facebook, a player made comment on fb that should have been left unsaid.  I advised he should remove them, because it was not in his interest to leave them for the coach or all to see. He did remove them. I am not going to reveal what was said but it would explain why the team seems to regress.  I find it interesting that he has a priest sitting on the floor behind the team for home games. The bench coaches, some good coaches in their on right seem to be bench warmers.  Their is no interaction between themselves, to pass on what or why a player is or doing. I too find that you have two of the nations top JC scorers, why not have them on the floor together more often.
 20. I guess they all could improve on defense, including Jenna, who seems to be holding back some.  I'm sure she will be a force on both ends of the floor.  But to Taylor's defense, I think that when Taylor comes in you can expect some steals, deflected passed and scraping that puts her on the floor. She is quick and fun to watch.  When you watch her, she has a smile on her face, having fun and enjoying the game.
 21. Major disappointment, to say the least!!!! Coach Roc's ice is soooo thin.... just saying. Might say his is gone.
 22.
Sorry but I'd rather see prewitt get the chance to prove that he deserves the job.  And we better recruit a few defensive players.
I'm with you, I would hope that Prewitt or anyone else has to work to get the position. At least we know that Prewitt is not a quitter.  JJ did quit mid-season, maybe he can't make the grade or just home sick, needs to grow up.  Prewitt he is at least grown up enough stay with it and wait for a chance. And we do need some size on both sides of the line.
 23. I posted an photo album on fb. [Hidden Content]
 24.
That is a great event for those kids and a class act by Coach Tidwell and the Lady Cards.
Those 2000+ kids did make some noise and it would be nice to have that kind of numbers at the Lady Cards games. I realize the kids were young, but being a Vet., significances of the day, I was a bit annoyed that the party continued through the National Anthem. Just saying...
 25. 42-41 Lamar 7;32 to go. They come back from being 11 down. Turnovers and poor shooting not helping Lamar. [Hidden Content]#
