  1. I retired from coaching 7 years ago and went to this game just to watch a game that would be part of deciding the district champ. The SETX chapter officiating has gone from bad to worse. I’m not talking about holds, holding is kind of like strikes in baseball. Tonight I saw multiple missed calls that went against both teams that put players in danger. Face mask being jerked, horse collar on the LCM sideline, late hits both ways that weren’t called. If this is the best the local chapter can do I would urge the coaches to look at other chapters for the sake of the players. Both teams played hard and it was a great atmosphere, but the officials were bad for both teams.
  2. Bridge City scrimmaged Vidor the last two years, 1 year got thumped and one year did ok if I remember correctly.

  4. Supposedly lots of people were supposed to show up to the board meeting to protest anyone know if this happened?
  5. I don’t comment often, but I would imagine thing like the lack of discipline over the last few years also played a part. I was at the BC vs. Liberty game and was surprised they didn’t fire the entire staff after the number of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, and the kids seemed proud of it. BC athletics could use a change of direction and I think slowing down and finding the right long term person is smart as long as they do it early enough for the new guy to have a full off season.
  6. I assumed it was new as this the first time I’ve ever seen it enforced in 30+ years of watching HS games
  7. There is evidently a bee UIL rule that is a judgement call and will be unevenly enforced. Bands can’t play if the other team can’t hear. They evidently forgot that band is there to support and that crowd noise is part of the game. The game I was at one band was “too loud”. If anyone else sees this happen this year please post.
  8. I thought Joe Greene graduates from Dunbar in temple not Fort Worth
  9. Every game I’ve seen this year the refs had a radio or Bluetooth system to communicate without the need to stop pkay
  10. Sounds like one of the lesser crews from the Houston chapter
  11. Hard to run the slot-t when losing first down
