My observations from this game is that Warren came to play, they were fired up and had a good game plan, executed it and made some good halftime adjustments, tough bunch of kids with alot of heart, congrats to Warren on a hard fought, tough game. Deweyville got off the bus over confident and not ready to play, hopefully the Pirates learned a lesson from this game.  Offensively the O-line needs to drastically improve if the Pirates expect to compete in their District.  They need to find someone who can catch the ball at the receiver position, the QB is putting the ball in their hands and we continue to drop them.  Offensively fumbles continue to be a problem, RB's need to tuck the ball away and secure it, basic fundamentals that need to be stressed if this team is going to compete.  Defensive side of the ball, tackling and coverage of WR's is problem areas that have followed this team since their first scrimmage, again adjustments need to be made for this team to be competitive. IMO.

Coach McDaniel made the right call to go for the 2 pt conversion and the win.

Anahuac - 42 HJ - 15

Absolutely the right call by Coach McDaniel to go for 2 pt conversion and the win, the Pirates had the momentum so I totally agree with the call.

Awesome game by both teams, hard fought game till the final whistle. Tale of two halfs, evadale was affective and moved the ball well through the air and on the ground in the first half, score could have been worse than 14 to 7 evadale up at half if not for a stout defense from Deweyville.  2nd half the Pirates took control and moved the ball well on the Rebels in the 2nd half scoring the only points late in the 4th qtr to pull within 1 pt. Coach McDaniel for Deweyville chose to go for the 2 pt conversion and the win but the 2 pt conversion was stopped by Evadale to perserve the win for the Rebels. Again congrats to both teams on a well played game.

[/quote]You're right about that SteelerCzy.I haven't seen Deweyville this year.Evadale looks better to me this year than they have been in awhile thats why I picked the Rebels. [/quote] I watched the Evadale and Galveston Oconnell film they (Galveston Oconnell) are very compariable to Sabine Pass so its very hard to gauge based on these two teams first games, I anticipate a hard fought game with the winner being the team that makes te fewest mistakes including turnovers.  Evadale is very well coached and they have some nice skill players on offense and Deweyvilles strength is their Defense, IMO, so it should be a close game.
