  1. That's a pretty good assessment Feathers of Deweyville, new Coach, and new Offense, it's going to take the scrimmages to look at who should be playing where since this offense is nothing like Deweyville has ran before. Defense is looking very fast and strong. We should get a very good indicator this weekend with the scrimmage at Kirbyville.
  2. It sure beats sitting at home on a Friday night watching TV while everyone else plays. Both teams will benefit. Both will get snaps, kicks, defenses, etc. in. The score is secondary. I am glad this worked out for both teams. Amen to that, to have a team cancell on you in August leaves you scrambling to find an opponent, any opponent, and we are thankful to Sabine Pass for helping us out.
  3. Don't know much about the Flag Division, but the Juniors and Seniors from Silsbee will be top dawgs this year.
  4. I can believe that...I think were all overlooking Deweyville and their gonna surprise some people. We should be pretty competitive, if the players can grasp the new offense, we'll be alright, the Defense is shaping up nicely. I've been reading alot of post that are dismissing EC and Hardin because they lost some pretty special players, Traimain, Marsh etc. EC is the standard bearer for this District for many years, before Traimain and Hardin has a Coach and players to keep their team in contention. IMO
  5. Buna, with the light poles in FRONT of the stands.
  6. Kountze will certainly be in the mix this year, but to say they are "heavy favorites" for the District Title is a matter of opinion.
  7. I don't know who will win, but Orangefield is returning a good group of players and Coach Morrisson has the Bobcats looking good.
  8. Outstanding pickup for the Deweyville Pirates, congrats Coach Hamerly, and welcome.
  9. Played Football, Baseball and Track at Bridge City from 79, 80 and 81.
  10. Deweyville's strength will be both lines this year, Addison will benefit from the new offense and the strong returning offensive line, scrappy team? Maybe, tough, competitive team, yes. Deweyville will hold their own this year, and might even suprise a few.
  11. WOS too strong early in the season for the dogs: WOS - 20 Ned - 7
  12. 1. Dayton 2. WOS 3. WB 4. Jasper 5. Newton 6. Kirbyville 7. Livingston 8. PAM 8. Nederland 9. Central 10. Lumberton
  13. I agree. The race will be wide open for the 3-playoff spots.
  14. The School Board did not listen to several players, towns people, and the former Coach who requested that Coach Pachuca be given a fair chance at the job, as I stated in a previous post, vote in the next school board election, we need a change.
  15. Saturday results: Gulf Coast - 9 Orange - 3 Port Neches - 17 Vidor - 3
  16. Gulf Coast - 9 Orange - 3 Port Neches - 17 Vidor - 3 Played on Saturday 28th
  17. Thats a real good point. I stay out of all the 7on7 hooplah that some certain teams and fans get sooooo worked up about, and that post just validated my assumptions about the real worth of 7on7. I am not bashing it, I just realize 7 on 7 sucess has a real weak (if any) translation to real football performance. It kinda reminds me of the relation of JV sucess to varsity sucess. 5A and 4A probably matters some, in 2A its all but meaningless as an indicator. Totally agree with this post.
  18. Deweyville's lines (Offensive & Defensive) will be the strength of this year's Team, in addition to 4-returners who all garnered mention for All District you will have an All District Lineman from 2006 returning to play who sat out last year. Keaton Addision the District New Comer of the Year will enjoy running behind this line in 2008.
