The perception of an EC - Hardin rivalry is one sided. EC views the Hornets as a nuisance little brother rather than a rival. Hardin craves the recognition the Bucs have earned over the years. EC is the standard for this District for the past several years, all the other teams are working hard trying to improve to be part of that standard.

All the teams are contenders, very tough District, you can not count anyone out until the games are played.

Yes I remember now, it was you, incidental contact, interference should not have been called, I liked Coach Buff, very good Coach, Coach Young spoke highly of him during the year. Whenever you get LCM and BC fans together, it's always entertaining.

Yeah the game in LCM was crazy, I was the runner on third (Skeet Johnson) when I tagged up and went to score and got tangled up with the third baseman, Coach Young sent me anyway and when I got tagged out at home the Ump called interference on the third baseman, Coach Buff hit the roof, crazy ending to the game. The game in BC, well let's just say I would like to forget that memory, Perk was large and in charge in that game, Ya'll spanked us pretty good.

Hey Rip, I played Centerfield for BC in 1982, boy did we have some really hard fought games, do you ever hear from Perk?

Congrats to the OYBS PONY Blue Jays and Coach Todd Bickham for winning the Championship. Their league record is 13-1 with one game remaining, they have already clinched the Championship.

I disagree with your assessment of Deweyville Football. It maybe true that Deweyville doesn't have the numbers, however, the talent is there, maybe not in the form of a Tramaine Thomas or Daniel Marsh, but what 2A teams have those special once in a decade players. Last year the District record was not good, but if you look at scores (except Hardin) and ask fellow Coaches what one of the most physical and hard hitting teams in the District was, I'm sure you would get more than a few nods for Deweyville. In most High Schools in Texas more often than not the AD is going to be the Head Football Coach that's just reality, Deweyville players will always have more heart and desire than talent, but give me 11 players with heart and desire and I can make a successful football team that will come to play every game and play hard till the last whistle and that's all you can ask for from Deweyville. The wins will come, but you have to realize, this is a District from top to bottom that is very competitive every week, the next couple of years Deweyville will compete and win their share of games.

Coach Pachuca is a gem of a Coach, he has all the qualities I as a parent look for in someone that's going to be Coaching my son, he will be missed. As far as the School Board goes, when the next election comes, VOTE, and remember this situation when you do, parents, students, and student atheletes all voiced their support for Coach Pachuca leading up to this hiring to several School Board members, if they don't listen to the community they represent, then VOTE at the next election for change.

The offer is on the table for Coach McDaniel, it's up to him to either accept or turn down the job.

Your friend's son will benefit from playing in Silsbee with LoneStar Junior Football, they have very good Coaches and they are always competitive. Last year was my son's final year in Little League with LoneStar, LoneStar is a first rate organization, tell your friend's son to stay positive and go play in Silsbee this year, he'll enjoy it.

IMO Coach Pachuca should get the job, he's established a very good work ethic and relationship with most of the players in the Athletics Programs both male and female, my Daughter is a Junior and she thanks alot of Coach Pachuca, as does my son who is in 7th Grade. They both speak of Coach Pachuca's positive attitude and how he is always teaching/instructing the players. I sincerely hope he is given a shot at the job.

Yes, everyone understands that. To some degree this will backfire. In 2A, some "large" teams were pathetic, and some of the smallest (Alto, now 1A, for a perfect example) were awesome. Betcha DV would rather take their chances against Warren than New Waverly, Garrison or San Augustine...betcha. Your right, Warren is always a tough game, no matter the sport, I like 23-AA just the way it is.
