It may be tough to use score from prior games to compare teams in any sport but in my opinion baseball may be the toughest. Don't get me wrong baseball is a team sport but unlike any other it can be totally dominated by just one player. So you have to see what pitchers the teams faced when talking common opponents. You can also put a pitcher out there twice against the same lineup and he may no hit them one game and the next game he may be run off in the first inning. I have to take my Tigers in this one overall only losing 4 games all year by a total of 4 runs. Pretty solid.

This forum may play a part as far as the fans are concerned but it is not the big part. This forum is moderated, although talking of big wins is like you are talking about is fair play. The big parts are social media like twitter or Facebook, where the talks can get heated and basically uncontrolled.

Congratulations Kalon!!

One of if not the biggest problems in any of these incidents has nothing to do with the kids at all. It's the "fans" or people making comments here or elsewhere that add fuel to the fire, not only by joining in whatever the 'conflict' is about but by defending or belittling the kids involved. All we are doing is bringing more attention to whatever has gone on and creating more animosity on one side or the other. One thing about it these altercations are not right no matter what side you are on. As a Tiger fan who is at more football and basketball games I have seen what goes on in many of these. There is too much trash talk these days both during the games and especally before. I have never had a problem with some good old " you can't stop me" talk but it seems more that goes on today gets personal. Now none of that condones physical action but it does lead to it. I can say in the past incidents I have seen have been started by either side not all one way or the other. Some of the problem at times is that there has tension beforehand and the officials may not know and allow the game to get a little physical and it explodes and others may just be purely a players action or reaction. It isn't the correct thought either way that our kids are always right or always wrong. Now as far as this incident last weekend, the only thing I will say and this comes from within is that the whole incident was filmed. The uil had reps at the event. The tapes were reviewed and Silsbee was told they were just fine.

HJ's Zane Zbranek commits to Hardin Simmons University

Congratulations. -
Although I agree with your statement I don't know that I would lump all 3 of those acts together. I don't think a robbery alone doesn't deserve a second chance. Add other factors such as violence and then maybe. As far as someone who beats someone hmm, if it reaches the point where "beats" is accurate then I am definitely less forgiving. However we are supposed to be forgiving, giving a second chance i any of the above cases has to come with some heavy consequences.

Cleveland High boys head basketball coach vacancy
ST413 replied to ttappett's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Wow I would say that's a good promotion! -
Might as well lock this one up...

Really high stakes then!

No probation means basically if you mess up again penalties will be accessed. I am not sure what those penalties could be.

There is one flaw with this view, in no way is the programs actions good or bad a reflection on AAW, he is a broadcaster not employed by the school. He isn't a coach or even a parent. Just like someone's siblings actions shouldn't reflect on that individual neither should the programs actions reflect on him. We all have a choice fans, myself, and AAW included, if we don't like what we are seeing then we can walk away and stop supporting the team. Now I am not asking or wanting that to happen in anyway but in no way do I feel that the programs actions, achievements or failures are any reflection on anyone outside of the program.

I am going to say this and then leave this subject alone. For at least the last 8 years, since I haven't worked evenings like I did before, you won't find many that have seen near as many Tiger football or basketball games as I have seen. While I was still working many nights I was still at as many as I could be. I am more in the middle on this. I can remember one of our football players a few years ago that got a personal foul in several football games for acts such as hitting a player in the helmet, and I am talking like a punch. I can remember yelling from the stands for him to be sat down. I can say I was dissappointed that it never happened. Maybe something was done that I didn't see but it didn't seem like it because it happened in several games. as far as the basketball team goes, I know we have had some players that were viewed as too arrogant by some or too mouthy, etc. I know we had one player that I noticed take a couple cheap shots himself in a playoff game several years ago. However with the exception of Jasper and LCM, I have thought that overall the last couple years have been a lot better overall. Now I know there were a couple other situations this year that were brought up but I didn't see them. I can't blame coaches or players for the situation last year in Jasper. I know words were exchanged and a fight ensued. I can't blame any of those kids for defending themselves or their teammates in that situation. This years event at LCM was a little different. The beginning of the altercation, on the court, was one of those things that happens from time to time in a game. Now the part that has me with somewhat mixed feelings is the teamsleaving the bench. Kind of hard to really blame Coaches for that when they were trying to break up the ones on the court, sure maybe a plan for someone to stay with players on the bench could be there but in that moment you are going to react and try to stop what's going on. I am not going to go into a blame for the one event because like was said that player paid his price and it's over. It's hard to blame those other kids on the bench for going to defend their teammates once they saw a crowd going out there. But that it what they are supposed to do. Now even in them leaving the bench, I only noticed the one player who was punished go out their and really do anything. The issues that most don't know are the relationships of these kids locally among each other online or knowing each other from summer leagues or whatever outside of these games. Some already have bad blood between them for whatever reason. You won't see that near as much when you play those teams out of our area. As far as basketball goes year in and year out we are one of the best teams in the area. These teams get tired of getting beat, get tired of our style of play, the kids go back and forth online, already have problems etc,...all leading to friction. Now the issue is how you handle that like was said you can only be pushed so far, my issue with that is that on the court you are in a "controlled" environment. Sure something can happen and you react. I was proud of the way my Tigers reacted after the LCM event this year. Whenever their was a tense moment of the court, I saw the player walk away. I also saw teammates come to each other and help ease the tension. That's the way we are going to have to do things now for sure. We don't have room for error now. I don't know what the penalty is for a probation violation but I know we don't want to find out.

You would have to ask those who have followed closer than I have, I know Whiitted has had some real good games lately.
-
It was announced as an e6 but didn't agree with that either.
-
You just mentioned the biggest key to the game and our low number of hits. Not only did Dallas pitch a great game he did so by putting himself ahead in the count all night. Tough for a hitter being in a hole with a pitcher that throws the ball like that.
-
With the two aces on the mounds, these two teams are pretty evenly matched. Dallas dominated the Tigers tonight and Sundgren gave up a few more hits but got out of every threat until the error. I would like to see that 3 game series and see what happens when each team has someone else on the mound.

I noticed the camera in the dugout several times but Honestly only when wos was at bat. Great game and hats off to both pitchers. Hard part for the Tigers is the fact that the costly error in both wos games came at the second base position. that's just tough on a player,. I hope we meet again in a best of 3 regional final!!!
