  1. LaVega is up 17-7 late in the third quarter!
  2. Now I am definitely with you on this. Now lets say this kid in the situation is one of these sure enough built athletes 17 years old ant they start the physicality, how is the adult to respond?
  3. You didn't succeed as far as pissing me off!. Takes more than that.
  4. ...........hearing no returnees at HJ next year.......and they will still win that weak district!!
  5. Apples and Oranges, they are both "fruit".
  6. The fans have been the story in the past what was it basketball and track at WOS a few years ago. But there has been some between players in the past too. Was proud of the players this year though.
  7. So if we are no one and beating WOS by 40 , where does that leave y'all?? Oh I know it leaves you as the Scarborough of basketball.
  8. Have no problem accepting it....was very pleased this year,. Maybe not in the outcome but both football and basketball seemed to be very clean games amongst the players. That has been my concern with past history. You can have your one really meaningless win in football since we aren't in the same division. We will take our two decisive wins on the court in district, where it counts.
  9. Doesn't matter if WOS has their whole team back,. Still going to take that beating by my Tigers!
  10. Just like it never fails that you will bring up WOS on a Silsbee thread....
  11. As far as soph. and jrs. To watch for the Tigers its those 3 starters. Not knocking any of those seniors to be. All 3 of those had impressive years this year.
  12. They will always be capable of a playoff run,. That easy district championship next year gives them a number 4 seed in the first round. Then it's just how deep can you go. I am going to miss those 2 district games.
  13. Someone corrected me earlier but without Parquet as far as varsity returners there are only 2, that's why some are not so optimistic.
  14. I am not wishful of anything all I said originally is to say is it would be spewing at the mouth to say WE WOULD beat WOS at this point. As far as the what ifs, it's all guess work,. But you are talking about high school kids, and you know as well as I do anything can happen between now and then. Heck I would have bet money, and I never do that, that Lincoln would not have got a 17 pt lead on us but they did.
  15. There is always a chance but to say we would is spewing! Never know what could happen could be raining and WOS fumble 10 times, they could have everyone fail just before the game and I don't want to mention any other possibilities. Besides if we had the same team as this year, I think we proved we had a chance.
  16. Like I said it would just be spewing from he mouth to say we would right now. Even if coaches stayed the same we are losing our line and qb...
  17. It would just be spewing at the mouth to state this. We have too many variables to overcome to know yet if we will beat anyone.
  18. From sitting in the stands and listening, and no I know nothing and am not even referencing this particular situation, it may not be from the kid but from his parents and their circle of friends.
  19. Definately a natural reaction and not the first time this particular player has made such statements and later recanted.
  20. Although I think both teams were starting to be able to move the ball with the running game at about the same time. We just didn't have enough time left to catch up running the ball.
  21. you are right only question I have is how many of those runs were actually scrambles.....i think we have the athletes in the skill positions for either offense to be successful.
  22. I don't think a "disciplined" coach has to be run heavy. I think disciplined refers to how your team handles itself not how it plays. And of course you can win games without establishing the run but it makes it sure makes it better and more consistent to have both. Now as far as being a players coach and being undisciplined, it may not always be the case but they generally run together. Generally if a coach is laying down the law more players are upset with him so he isn't considered a players coach. Now some coaches garner enough respect to have well disciplined teams without having to lay down the law.
  23. I understand the kids feelings. Especially those that have played with Kolten both on the field and the court. Totally understandable. They have had a comfort zone with these coaches and of course Kolten is a brother to them. I hate to see him leave for his senior season. I have seen comments from them and others about it negating our receiving Corp though, and although the numbers may not be quite as big I think it may help them in some ways. I think this new offense has the chance to be just as effective without the yardage numbers. And it could make a big impact on the defense as well. My point was more towards that perception than towards the kids being upset. I have had that experience myself a coaching change before my junior and senior year was the main reason I didn't play those years.
