1. This is the second game of a double header.  Don't know much about the other two Washington and Reagan.
2. The Tigers had more incentive in this game....its the Pleasant Grove Hawks!!

5.
So proud of my Lady Bobcats last night and proud of our two seniors Ashton Wagner and Rebecca Higginbotham!!! Ashton hit the first shot of the game a long 3 pointer and it was on after that. Girls played inspired and hard all night, that's the Lady Cat team I've been waiting to see all year. Coach Jost did a great job of keeping our girls fresh with a good rotation and we flat wore out Huffman who I believe only played 7 girls all night. Our press was making them work for everything and we contested most of their shots all night. We were just in better shape and it showed in the second half, our girls looked like they could have played another game. We hit some big 3's at key times everytime Huffman was making a run to slow them down. And our post ran the floor and got easy buckets all night, it was a total team effort!!! Keep it up ladies and go give Giddings a taste of what Southeast Texas basketball is all about!!!
Very good analysis.  I don't attend many girls games but was there due to a niece being on Huffman's  team.  Huffman only played 6 or 7 players and when they made a run in the fourth they ran out of gas.  Orangefield played a great game.  As far as Huffman,  its a shame they played so few players.  If they had played more,  maybe those on the floor late in the game could have kept there run going.  Oh and for you OF fans/cheerleaders you have to drop that "Who are you rooting for" cheer,  nobody should copy that from hj it just gives you a bad name.... ;D
6.
Region III 3A Bi-District Silsbee vs. Splendora Tuesday, Feb. 21st, 7pm    Angelina JC  Lufkin
wow no where close to where i thought they might play
7. Doesn't make sense to not use one facility but allow use of another if vandalism is the reason.
8. If they aren't letting one facility be used because of vandalism,  why would they allow another?  I was at the OF-Huffman girls playoff tonight at McDonald Gym.  Where I did hear the nastiest thing I ever heard....OF doing a OHS version of one of HJ's favorite cheers...DISGUSTING!!! ;D
9. This has been explained repeatedly.  A far as who the Tigers are trying to prepare for it is their second round opponent no matter which route they take both have inside players bigger than HJ's.
10. How many kids are on the  varsity?. It is a little hard to believe that on a basketball team of say about 15 kids that a coach wouldnt know a kid didn't live in the district especially that he wasnt enrolled in the school.
11.
I missed the show tonight......why is Wheatley having to forfeit 5 games??
Baically,  they played a player that wasn't even one of their students in those games.  I forgot exactly what DV called the school he attended but it wasn't a regular high school so to speak and it wasn't part of Wheatley.
12.
I guess my confusion lies in the fact that you are basically saying wheatley and yates counted their students in two different ways?  One of the sure is right and one of them surely is wrong.  Really confused on this!
Evidently Wheatley has more problems than knowing how to count students....they don't even know who their students are..

14. You are right, most of them already cry about those two 3a's. But you would only have one of each in the finals and would keep the little schools from having to play the big ones unless they are the best little school.
15. So 9 big schools (4a&5a) put then in the top of a 16 team bracket with one add in like Nederland tourney. And put 8 small schools in other bracket. Two separate tourneys in one with two best out of each bracket playing for the triangle championship.
16. This year and for that matter probably last year, the Tigers and HJ, would finish in the top 2 spots.  They may lose a game or two but would still end up there.  This years Tiger team has no size so that would make them vulnerable on an off night.  I don't know if HJ has had much of an off night this year. Both have proven they can beat the top teams.  I haven't seen  Central this year but have seen LCM, Ozen, and Nederland.  LCM has a big  man that would be a tough match up for the Tigers but it has been stated how they have guard problems.  You wouldn't get away with that against these Tigers.  Ozen was a game the Tigers jumped on big and then struggled to win but that was an early game.  Virtually the whole Tiger varsity hadn't been playing long.  Both teams have surely improved so these could be interesting.  Nederland has had trouble with pressure defenses, after all didn't Central just expose that.  So the Tigers would give them fits.  HJ has proven what they can do to all these teams this year.  Would it be a cakewalk...no but these two would end up on top.  Yes being the bigger schools makes that a hard pill for  you to swallow,  just get a larger glass of water!!
17.
If Silsbee were to play Nederland, Ozen, or Central the way they played their two games against HF or their two games against WOS, then yes indeed, they would have lost several of those games. But also, bear in mind, although HJ beat Nederland and Central, I was hazard to guess that Nederland and Central have improved much more since those earlier games than HJ has.  Those games would be neck and neck if played during district.
you are partially right, but you would have to at least throw out the second WOS game from this and maybe the first HF game.  Silsbee played real well at WOS leading by 24 at halftime and winning by about the same margin.  Had a 30 pt lead and put subs in briefly reducing the lead.
18. No I have been a Cowboy's fan all my life even though I can't stand Jerry Jones.  good luck tomorrow night.  And unfortunately in the WOS gym it will only take about 40 HF fans to fill up their little section!

20. but if you practice hard isn't there still the same risk of injury? Not light workouts but good practices.
21. I can understand the injury worry but,  (I don't know how it was then) the first place team now can have a from tuesday until the following friday. I would think you would want a game in there just to stay sharp.
