4. Based on the records of these two the years,  it is a pretty good argument that they have been the best two teams in the area both years if not longer.  Pretty good record for two smaller schools. Phone really messed that one up.
 5. ...those games and the "upset" happens.

I can't wait until the day one of these little ole 3A teams knocks mighty yates out of the playoffs, especially if its one of out local teams.
Sorry, you'll be too old to remember what happened when and if that day comes. ;)
It will happen, just a matter of time. I remember a game last year, that you said my Tigers couldn't win. No they didn't win it but only because the last spot just wouldnt fall.  You said out was lack of focus by GBall, it only takes one night for that to happen and that last shot to happen to fall.
OMG! Back on that game again, huh? Let me say it in a different way. Ball did not take Silsbee as serious as Silsbee took Ball. And as I predicted, Ball won as expected. They played *down* that game.
Exactly what I was saying if Yates is still so good all it takes is one of

 9.
I was told HJ would elect to play... If needed..not sure how true but that's what I heard
That is no suprise seeing as that is the way its been in the past.  I just don't see the benefit for either team this year.  It doesn't look like either playoff route will be any easier.
 10.
The amount of energy this game would take wouldn't be good for either club.I'm not a fan of taking any time off but these two clubs know each other too well already. They could schedule up and good some good work in to stay sharp.
As much as I love attending these games, I couldn't agree more.  If there isn't much of an advantage to gain with either route, then why not flip a coin and face someone who may present a different look similar to something  you may face in the playoffs.
 11. And I would like to see him hit the game winner on March 10th!! ;)
 12. Wow you have to go back to '08 to find a lopsided score. The one I remembered was the '08 seeding game.  And both years that there were lopsided scores the series was split almost right down the middle.  And the year each team had there largest victory,  the other team won the regional final meeting between the two.  It has truly been a great series since '07 with some great memories.

We comitted most of those fouls before fatigue was a much of a factor in my opinion.  As far as that Navasota game, I don't remember from looking at the stats and wasn't there so not sure how bad the fouls were.
I remember two specific instances where Prudhomme would have blocked two shots down low but couldnt take the risk because he was playing with 4 fouls.  But those situations force you to adjust.  If most of the fouls were committed before fatigue was evident, you can also credit that to an aggressive man to man defense.  There are many instances where the aggression created a turnover but many that created a foul.  If you are going to accept the rewards of that defense you are also forced to accept its liabilities, particularly against a competent team that is not likely to fold its tent and submit.  My guess is that if you calculate the average per district game foul count for the Tigers and compare it to the average per playoff game foul count, it will be considerably larger due to the calibre of competition.
Very true,  it was all part of the game, I wasn't arguing any of that just stating that I felt our aggresiveness changed because of the fouls both on the press and down low.  We had to adjust and HJ took advantage.  I can only really recall one foul off hand that wasn't probably a result of our aggresiveness and that was  Gaines fourth.  He was caught off guard by a good steal by HJ and reacted drawing the foul.  Most if not all of the rest were the result of our aggresiveness.

 15. I just hope any pre playoff games keep the same schedule and are played on friday instead of saturday! :)
 16.
Very good analysis. The only thing I may add would be that although the Tigers may have been tired I believe the pressure in the fourth wasnt as intense because of the foul trouble with two guards fouling out and another with four.  And the inside game for HJ benefited for the same reason with both of our bigs starting the fourth with for apiece and fouling out. Great game!
I think some may be taking this statement in the wrong way.  All I was trying to say is I think the changes and adjustments were more a result of foul trouble than fatigue.
 17.
I think we can all say that Silsbee and HJ will win out in district AAW what do you think will happen
Not a safe assumption, the Tigers have to go to WOS friday and play a team that gave them just a tough a game as HJ did in Silsbee.
 18. Definitely a great playoff warm up but some coaches dont like to play a team too many times in a year.  Look at how many coaches try to stay out of tournaments with district rivals in them.
