1. Very good analysis. The only thing I may add would be that although the Tigers may have been tired I believe the pressure in the fourth wasnt as intense because of the foul trouble with two guards fouling out and another with four.  And the inside game for HJ benefited for the same reason with both of our bigs starting the fourth with for apiece and fouling out. Great game!
 2. wow just went back and looked at The Tigers did a great job on the boards tonight only getting outrebounded by 2 by a much larger team.  The glaring difference in the stats was the 3's everything else was pretty even.
 3. Definitely,  well other than that first game for the second place team...
 4. And if any of those listed teams aren't upset by anyone not listed both HJ and Silsbee will have to face two of those listed just to get to Huntsville. 1st place would play Navasota in third round and second would face Coldspring.
 5. Exactly La Vega won't have to be worried about until Huntsville, first you have to get there!
 6. I believe Brookshire Royal who will probably win Sealys district will be just as bad if not worse than another matchup with Sealy.  And it would be in that second round...
 7. Yes the Tigers have to win a tough one at WOS friday to keep that a possibility.
 8.
Shaun was in the same boat.. Picking up his fourth in the third... They didn't start him or bill in the fourth...
Yeah and unfortunately we could never get his fifth but I did see him play less aggresive as well.

Another great game by these two teams.  I do beleive the two teams are a lot more equal than most thought before district.  Very proud of my Tigers tonight.  They battled foul trouble throughout the second half.  To have Gaines pick up his fourth early in the third and then have one of our top scorers in Holmes foul out early in the fourth as well as our starting big man,  and hang in there with a chance to win right up until the end.  Great game guys and congrats HJ on a hard fought victory.
They are closer to each other than I believed even after the first game..Silsbee is very fast.... You do a very good job at denying the post pass...great game by both teams and I believe that we just keep making each other better...
Definately,  I remember your partner reference to how bad the free throws were in Silsbee.  I don't know that he ever said that it shouldn't have been close if that percentage was where it should have been but that was the idea left in my head.  Well tonight that percentage was there and even much higher than could be expected in the second half and even with all our foul trouble, we were right there with a chance to win within a minute or so left. Two fairly even teams in my eyes.
 10.
Silsbee had 4 players foul out (Dobbins, Holmes, Reed and Jackson), 2 starters, first two reserves. Dobbins fouled at the beginning of 4th, Holmes fouled out at 5:33 mark of 4th, Reed at the 3 minute mark 4th. With Silsbee's leading scorer (Holmes) and the only two post players the Tigers have (Dobbins and Reed), Silsbee was really hamstrung that 4th quarter. Also, Gaines had to play the entire 4th Q with 4 fouls after picking up his 4th early in the 3rd. Hawks took full advantage of the short handed Tigers. Officiating was very fair. No issues what so ever. Very good job. Hawks earned this victory by making their last 10 free throw attempts and going 16/18 from the line in the 2nd half.
Yeah Kelton had to step out of the way on a few easy buckets for the Hawks in the fourth,  may not have been able to stop them anyway but couldn't contest them.

Help me out DV... Lit the whole place on fire...

For point of reference several sweet mid range jumpers in this game but a immediate timeout after the dunk... Help me out DV... Lit the whole place on fire...
Definitely lit the place on fire,  even saw one ref motioning to his ears and mouthing wow during the timeout.  Not so sure that the time out was called because of that or just the fact of the turnover and score with that little time remaining.  Unfortunately there was too little time for that 35-6 run that was supposed to come after it.
 12.
Gates open at 4:20, and doors were locked at 4:49.  I would estimate that HJ had a crowd advantage of 65-35%.  But the crowd's were very well behaved tonight with only one person being escorted out of the gym tonight by the law.  Kudos to the HJ Admin, SLPD and Hardin County Sheriff's Dept for running things smoothly.
Missed that..
 13.
Silsbee was 3/22 14% from 3 point range.
Definitely have to do better than that...
That was definitely the difference.... well that, and the lack of a 82-0 3rd quarter blitz!  Silsbee got their share of turnovers, but certainly not the tidal wave they rode last time!
Foul trouble definitely prevented that all out defense.  Tight calls and too many key players in foul trouble.  We will have to adjust to those calls better and stay out of that problem in the playoffs.  Not an excuse as they were called both ways sure I saw calls I thought were missed but I saw them on both ends.

 19. Getting further in the playoffs involves a lot.  Luck of the draw may play a big part this year with all the good teams in region 3. The Hawks size has them built to go further.  The Tigers will have to play their best every night or their size may be the deciding factor.
 20. I know Stafford has flip flopped regions the last couple realignments.  Is there any chance this Houston schools distict  would end up in that other region?
