[/quote] Never saw an answer as to whether or not these should have been shot.  My thought was that a normal double tech involves an altercation between players.  This was two seperate techs.  Gaines for mouthing to officials and I was told Prudhommes was  bumping and mouthing to another player. I don't know if this is correct or not.

[/quote] While I know nothing of the costs of referees, I had concluded that the cost of each referee (per game) is the same regardless of how many referees are involved.( one ref doing four games would have the same total cost as four refs doing one game)  If the referees give volume discounts, then I obviously was wrong.  If they get mileage, its hard for me to believe that there is more than a slight difference between the travel costs to Silsbee as compared to Sour Lake.  Also, I have PMd the originator of the post(of which we speak) to see if I  have inadvertently misassumed) and will PM you his reply if I get one.  Its 9:38 pm and he just responded telling me I interpreted his post properly [/quote]I don't know of volume discounts.  But I often see two referee groups at a boys "night" - 1 set for freshman and JV and 1 set for Varsity.  Now, I assume that neither of these groups handled the girls game  ;), then that would make a 3rd set (and a 4th if the girls handle two groups like the boys... I don't know).  How many groups were used last night? Also, the girls gym was dark last night - meaning no electricity, no janitorial overtime. One final thing - What about parents that have boys and girls playing.  This gives them the chance to finally see both their kids play! .... maybe that's what he meant!  :D [/quote] Wasn't there a freshman gamein the girls gym.  so at least 1 more set of refs and some of that extra cost.

[/quote] Yes that was interesting although I thought the Tigers missed both of the free throws to fall behind by 1 at the time.  I saw Gaines mouth to the official and get called for his, but totally missed  Prudhomme bumping a Tiger and getting whistled at the same time.  Me and a fellow Tiger fan saw different T's at the same time.  Didn't think they would shoot both either.

[/quote] Silsbee may be at full strength but HJ is far from - Hawks missing Anderson & Carr.  [/quote] As far as this season is concerned the only player who has really played is Carr. Anderson would have been a big factor for HJ this year but unfortunately he was injured. I hate seeing a high school player miss his senior season to an injury. The Tiger's will be without one key sub as well in Busby.  He Is the only big post the Tigers have on the bench and has been playing well lately.  This one will be another great game.  My Tigers better come to play like they can or it could be a long night.

Thats good news. Those girls fought so hard for their first district win last night, it is a shame that their celebration was subdued worrying about their teammate and friend. Congratulations Lady Tigers!

why were the two 22-2A games postponed?

Before I say anything,  let me say I was impressed by HF tonight.  They played hard and played good.  To answer  some of your questions Lazeek,  the Tigers are definitely missing Coach T.  I have faith in both Collins and Brooks but right now something is missing.  Not blaming either of these 2.  And yes the Tigers missed Lane as.  His length could have made a difference on the defensive end and he would have helped on the boards and offensive end as well. We also didn't have the depth we are used to.  Only played 9 players tonight  suited 10 counting Lane.  HF could very well be a playoff contender if they keep plyaing like this.  Their height was tough for the Tigers to deal with and they handled the pressure fairly well most of the time.  And just like the predictions on here maybe the Tigers did overlook the Horns a little bit.  I bet that part won't happen in Silsbee. The Tigers are definately not playing their best ball right now.  Offense looked sluggish and too much complaining about the game instead of playing it.  I really thought the Tigers would have a fairly easy night but HF didn't let that happen.  Great effort by them.  And way to hang in there and get the win Tigers.
