[/quote] Not sure the starters played much more than normal,  when compared to other tight games.  The platoon system, at least in most games I have seen,  is used mostly in the first quarter unless its a blowout.  Then normal rotation.  You are correct, in that it is hard to go a game in our system without a foul.  DC was helped in that he mostly played defense outside, on Bosha a lot, instead of under the basket stopping drives and attempting to block shots. 

WOS played very well.  I wasn't sure about them earlier in the season,  now they are a very strong bet for that third playoff spot.  The Tigers  have not shot the ball well the last two games,  granted some of that is credited to both HJ and WOS but even open shots and inside shots haven't been falling. DC got frustrated tonight and it showed.  His third foul was a little questionable,  not necessarily a bad call,  but he lost his cool a little and drew the T.  The bench played very well tonight,  they earned this win.  DC has to not let the refs and other parts of the game not effect him so much.  Play his game and let the rest fall where it may.  We need to find a way to et the ball to him inside more.  Teams are sagging on him and making it hard,  we just need to work harder and start the offense through him.  It will make it easier for everyone.  I hope Prentice isn't out for too long, even with our depth missing one of your top 2 players is tough.

Gaines not having as many could be partly because he was out of the game more than the others. As far as DC and Prentice I would like to think they spent more time on the bench resting(due to our depth) than their HJ countpart,  but I am not sure that was the case. I have said it elsewhere the top 5 or 6 players on these teams are pretty equal,  the difference is the difference is the Tigers have more depth.  The Hawks have just as good a chance at winning as do the Tigers when those top players stay in the game and stay fairly fresh.

Poppa, I guess I will give you a vuictory in the last meeting between the us as long as it is district or a district tiebreaker.

The girls loved it I am sure, but it sure made for a long evening. If our girls would have kept it interesting it would have made it go by faster.

By the way not being able to wait for round 2 wasn't meant to take away from any other game. I just love seeing the atmosphere of this matchup.

Definately. They seem to have come together well. Early on it looked like they would have to fight for a playoff spot. It looks like they are the definite favorites for one now.

AAW soyunds like we agree on the difference between these two. Would like to know the rebounding by halves if anyone knows it.

If that is the way it should be then some of the Silsbee people should eat a little crow for saying that HJ could not hang with the Tigers.  HJ proved that they are just as good and talented as the Tigers.  With a break here and there all of the Tigers would be eating crow and they would be the ones making excuses!!!!  But the Tigers executed and got the W, but I can assure you the coaches, players and fans of Silsbee were on edge and worried about losing to the Hawks up until about half way thru the 4th!!!  And yet not one person has given HJ credit for keeping the Tigers off of their game for 3 quarters, their excuse is that the Tigers were rusty..........HJ has only played one more game than the Tigers since going back to school and only one more game than the Tigers since the Christmas break, so no rust!!!!  Just being beat for 3 quarters!!!! [/quote] I am not saying the Tigers were rusty.  Sure I was concerned about it  before the game.  Heck I am not going to try and guess wether each pass was a result of pressure or not being sharp. I don't think we played that poorly during any part of the game.  I think Sean having to sit down for a large part of the last quarter was huge. Not getting to be as aggressive on defense played a part as well but that also played a part into getting those 4 fouls.  That could flip in the next game and we could be in that position,  hopefully that will be when our depth shines the most.
