ST413

That was my question. Like I said I haven't seen the game yet. I am sure they were the correct call from what has been said. It also sounds like the same calls were going the other way in the first half though. Either way my only complaint there would be consistency. The players needed to adjust and didn't. 

What 3A game did people have trouble with the officiating?  I didn't see the games, at least not yet. I did have a question about the Tigers game but didn't want to seem like it was an excuse. We got beat no excuse. In the third we started getting charges when in the first half we were drawing fouls. We have had a habit of getting charges, I just wasn't sure if they changed the way they were making the calls.

[/quote] How do I know I saw them in there first round blowout of sterling.  They may have known how to run it but they looked very vulnerable on offense and defense in the half court.  They could have been a lot better in my opinion.  Those kids had the ability to play half court,  you could tell they weren't used to doing it.  To me, blowouts would have been the perfect chance for them to get more comfortable  in that offense and defense.  Its doesn't come from the kids it comes from the coach.  I don't know maybe he is unsure of himself in that situation if so he could have used that time for both his and the kids benefit.

[/quote] Oh I agree they needed to play to win but the point on here has been when they had huge leads they should have eased off.  I saw them play in person and they were not a real good team in the half court.  That is where they needed work, so in these lopsided games they had the opportunity to work on that part of the game.  As far as comparing to the pros,  these are high school athletes they are not paid and are not the best of the best.  Pros are both it is their job to keep a team from embarrasing them.  High school athletes are there to compete and learn the game.  If they are beaten so be it  And they  may even be in a lopsided loss but embarrassing them should never be part of the equation.  A truly good high school coach coaches not only to win but to make his players better preparing them for playing in the future.

  I know many of you would expect me to comment on the Tigers ranking but that is not what I made this topic about.  I made this because I feel the poll really did an injustice to Spurger.  I know the argument would be that they got beat badly by Cayuga and some of the other teams ranked above them didn't. However,  the Pirates made it to Austin so they were one of the final four teams. They lost to the team that won state.  In my book they deserve to be ranked higher than ninth.  I would have to put them in the top 4 because they earned their spot in Austin and beat the number  2 team in the state.  Congratulations Pirates on a great year and congratulations to all our ranked area teams!!  Good luck next year!!

I don't think anyone has a problem with Yates team. It is the coach they have a problem with.

All you need to do is look at the stats of those who made the list.  It took a couple of games for some of those to be comparable to what DC put up in one.
