1. Jeremy can't do what granny.
2. I would love to know how many yards nav #8 has. We have no answer for him.
3. Looks like HJ's fourth quarter magic is back for this season. Good job Hawks. Hope my Tiger's take notice and know it won't be easy like some think.
4. HJ hanging closer than a lot of people thought!!  You have to know they are always gonna be strong.
5. Tigers had one good series on defense. We need a few more this half. Navasota's offense has looked just as explosive as ours.
6. Exactly, both offenses look great.
7. I don't know if either team brought their defense.
8. Can you say track meet Silsbee 12-7.
9. Good drive Tigers Nav moving
10. I would love to see a Kountze-Silsbee match up in about 3 or 4 weeks. I know they play next friday but until all of our Tigers are back playing and in bball shape, I feel Kountze has the edge.
11. Yea did lose that one but we could argue over whether or not it was because of overlooking HJ.
12. Definately could be the Tigers year but it wasn't underestimating HJ that ended the Tigers season early. It was looking forward to beating HJ in regional finals and overlooking Jasper.
13. Where it got Silsbee was a 2-1 record against the Hawks.  I never underestimate HJ but I have to go with the Lions tonight. They are gonna be real tough this year.
14.
But has HJ ever played a Silsbee team that had a starting lineup of '6"3, '6"3, '6"4, '6"7,'6"8."  ::) I would think not I cannot think of a Silsbee basketball team in the past that ever had that much size If they can get JJ in the mix that will be one of the most ridiculous lineups in 3a period
Size always helps, but can they break a good press, shoot good from the outside, protect the ball, block out, etc: all those fundamental things that make a good team? Do the bigs have muscle enough to get physical?....
Good points...this probably won't be a starting lineup but can take the court at times.  Have not seen JJ play so I can't speak for his basketball skills,  but I do know he can be physical.  As far as the others most of the areas you pointed out are covered pretty well.  Will have to see about the outside shot,  although we had some against Legacy.  A startin lineup minus one 6'3 inserting a 5'9 is probably more likely.  Sizewise I would be very interested to see if any 3A team in the state can matchup with the above menioned 5 but like you said size alone does not win games.  According to a post on the football forum,  Navasota could have two big big men(6'5 270 and 6'7 300 if I remember correctly)  but I do not know if they play bball and don't know what else they will have with the.
15. Based on one game, he has the ability to be a back up pt for Varsity even after football. But due to numbers and size you may be right. They probably will want to get him more playing time than he would get on varsity as well.

Also, my dad had a real good buck chasing a doe all around him all morning long. They are not touching the corn so everybody can guess what's on their minds.
Oats?
No.......acorns!!!
17. I understand.  Coach Fred Williams said 5 was0a freshman. He reminded me of Shannon as well except he looked even shorter.
18. I thought #3 was Gaines #5 was the shortest player on the court. He didn't start Lockett and #3 did. Either way #5 was very impressive.

Everyone is saying they are good. My question is who were the two teams that beat them in district play?
Caldwell and Cameron Yoe.
Tough district!
20. Can't wait to see what the Tigers have to say about this.
21. Well, I am headed to the Woodlands to see the Tigers of course. If not I would head to Kountze to see H-J and Kountze play some round ball.

23. Working on Saturdays keeps me from being able to be there.
