Yes the lack of participation by several players is what can keep a pretty good team from becoming a great team. I wish the Tigers had that devotion by more players. A question for Lazeek or another knowledgeable HJ fan, have players such as Burrel and others who played football as well as basketball participate in summer basketball?

Saw this game wasn't much of a game. kountze blew silsbee out. silsbee was missing what should be three starters next year as well as at least one more player so this isn't a true look at the team. however Kountze looked real good. they shot the ball fantastic and played great team ball. Had a little guard that looked real good as well as Mcdaniel and #5 who I assumed was Walker. Silsbee has to work on team play as well as overall hustle. Silsbee looked at times like they just weren't into it. I know it is just summer games but still they should put the effort in. D.C. got real frustrated with the officiating and I believe his teams play, they just need to play together better. Anyone know when silsbee's and HJ's next games are?

Are these games at the high school?

hey joe if you saw Silsbee and they had no inside size then ou two 6'6 returning players must not be playing..... Silsbee should have plenty of size next year.....

HJ looking for one team for 09 Basketball Marathon

I don't think either set of coaches H-J's or Silsbee's want to see each other more than necessary. -
These are high school athletes adding a district tournament would give unneccesary chances for injuries before thev playoffs. Yes they do it in college but college players are getting paid in the way of an education high school players should no have to risk their playoff chances or college chances by playing in an unneccesary district tournament.

9-3 on Rayburn

The course was fantastic. It was brutal yesterday..
-
Will there be a fost tonight in the Silsbee area?
-
Don't know if you were there but if you thought it was brutal on TV you should have seen it in person. Padraig drove it into the water. they said it never crossed land. He dropped opposite the fairway by the tents. Hit over the green next to the stands. From there back into the water. then pitched in for 6. Out of the last ten or so groups almost half went int the water.

OK guys, I feel that Tiger is the man now. But my question is can he be competitive at the top as long as Jack? Deeper fields could prevent this but will he win a major at 46 years old? Not questioning his ability he has proved that just his longevity.

On the 80's list, shouldn't Anthony Allen(Lincoln) be included. -
Live in Silsbee, just wondering if we will have frost this weekend. I have some tomatoes and a few other plants planted.

First off I am a Silsbee fan, and we have 5 players coming back which started a significant number of games for a team that was one of the most talented in 3A teams in the state . And you want to use th JV this year as part of the argument, so did OF JV beat the Tigers? Not to mention the size advantage we will have . Now as far as Turner, Ricossa and Gustafson, I would take Turner over any player OF has. And after watching Ricossa and Gustafson play at the end of the year, I definately have no problem taking them as well. Fans who did npt see these two at the end of the year are going to be suprised. I am not doubting the talent OF has coming back just think it wouod still be an upset to take one of the top two spots from the Tigers or Hawks.

Still don't feel they will have the talent to compete with H-J or Silsbee, but upsets do happen.....

Best Sophmore in The Golden Triangle?
ST413 replied to freshman1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
D.C. is the best sophomore I have seen this year. With two years of experience, I expect big things from him this year. I do feel he will suprise some people and end up playing more outside than in the paint but he will still be a force on the boards along with Silsbee's two big men. Silsbee also has another good sophomore returning whose season ended prematurely this year in Prentice Lane, who will also provide good size at the guard position at 6'2. -
Their post not sure after that but they always have athletes.

BC likely 5th behind Silsbee/H-J, WOS and Orangefield.
-
Yeah, we have several shooters from the JV we will have to depend on, just not sure who will take over as a strong point guard could be Lane or Hill.

KP when you say H-J will be deep, and I am not arguing, I agree lots of potential talent just not experienced yet, do you feel that the depth ismore a facor of not having Benard/Burrell or just having lots of talent. I can see the same in Silsbee's guard play but feel that it is more so because of trying to fill Robinson and Walter's shooting with several players.
