Crockett 81, Tatum 57 Big first quarter for Crockett.  Tatum seemed a little shocked.  Settled down a little but never came within about 20.

An interesting thing about Rudder.  This is their third year as a school.  They began with only freshman.  Now they have Fr, So. and Jr., but no seniors.  I hope they do well but I can't see them giving Silsbee much of a fight.

I guess every year someone somewhere brings up the subject of a school running up the score on another team.  To score this many points the Yates press must have been to much for Lee to handle.  I guess if I saw the game and saw that Yates didn't play more than 8 players, I might could criticize.  If Houston Lee played Yates caliber teams often they would surely work harder to improve their abilities to break a press.  That might mean, if they were to play again, they would only get beaten by 100 points, but they would be better. If I were a runner and could set records wherever I ran.  I wouldn't run just to win.  I would lay it down every time.  If I were a coach and had a record setting team.  I would surely let the whole team play when they was well in control of the game, but I wouldn't tell them to take it easy on a team.

I saw the Wheatley v. Crockett game.  Wheatley is way down this year.  The tempo was very fast and Crockett got off to a sluggish start.  Crockett is not looking all that good yet.  Looks like Lumberton found some weakness.

My real opinion: Any state champion in Texas accomplished something major. You only have a few years to do it in and you're up against some of the best in the country. A state championship is huge. Many great teams never get one. About the 21-3A MVP: Let this year alone decide the winner. Don't let the last two years have anything to do with it. Two of the best perennial powerhouses in the state in one district.

How are Silsbee's injuries? Healthy - Silsbee by 20+ Injured - Silsbee by 15

It looks to me like last year was a pretty tough year and this year looks like Madison, Argyle, Estacado and Brownfield would be truly difficult to get a win over in the championship game. How was 2007?

Was 2007 a down year for 3-A basketball in Texas?

Re: Cleveland I wonder if starting the fab Sophomore class caused the upperclassmen to revolt. It has happened before. Too bad for this year. How good will they be in the next two tears?
