Hardin-Jefferson 54 Houston Yates 102/FINAL

This would only apply to open enrollment schools. Just simply close the the enrollment to just the district area and your good. Problem solved. -

This is the biggest issue right here. If they truly have that many to choose from then they should be in the highest classification period. This would fix a lot of the issues. The best way to fix it in my opinion is that you classify every open enrollment school by population in there area. If you have a area that kids can play for your school then it should be counted in there enrollment numbers. -

Let me get all this straight! 1. Yates are cheaters and recruit players but somehow do it legally by UIL rules? Yates also had a player ruled ineligible by the UIL but the other senior transfers were apparently given the green light by the UIL? So don’t this make them legit? 2. Clay Davis is a sore loser and cry baby and he had to come up with a reason why him and he’s team got embarrassed. I don’t agree with his statement he made in the BMT enterprise although it doesn’t surprise me. He knew a beat down was coming. In my eyes that makes him a cry baby and sore loser. Time to move on and good luck to all the other area teams still alive. -

I honestly think most of the people that post negative things about Hefner are old schoolers. I’m a old schooler myself and back in the 90’s when you had a big D1 recruit on a team they dominated the game. They would score 30 plus a game no mater if they were doubled teamed or not. They stuck out like a sore thumb but times have changed. You look at the total makeup of Hefner and he has all the intangibles to become a big time player. He has a lot of things going for him that you can’t teach but he also has a lot of improving to do on the offensive end. He missed several layups, jumpers and free throws that he will have to learn to make if he’s going to have a successful college career which he’s capable of doing but he’s not there at this point. The bright side is he will have at least 4 more years to improve. -

I believe the boys had a lot more to do with it in this one. Great game plan but Gipson and Seymour stepped up. In every game you have to have a game plan and boys have to execute. Great game dogs!!!! -

I have to respectfully disagree on the college statement but agree with him being the most impactful bulldogs to come through there. I think the Southland conference was the right place for him. I honestly think him and the Lofton kid for PA are very similar. He has a big body, good rebounder and has good foot work but he’s a better free throw shooter than Weisbrod. The downside to both is there ball handling skills, there athletic ability and there ability to guard away from the basket. This part of the game for big men really isn’t exposed in high school because there guarding bigger guys 8 feet from the basket. It’s not there fault but guys who are 6”5 are forwards in college not post like they are in HS. This is not to say they can’t be successful in college because Weisbrod was but it wouldn’t of been that way if he played at a bigger school IMO. -

1-Hefner, but this BC team is salty. This is the same team that beat Nederland last year with Hefner. They shoot the 3 ball very well. -
PNG wins 3 to 0

Hard fought win tonight by Nederland. Friendswood is hands down the best team they have played all year. Now Nederland gets rewarded with Pflugerville who beat Friendswood 2 to 0 earlier in the year. It's going to be another very tough task but if any group can pull this off, they can. Great job girls and coaches this is a special group. Keep it going!!!!

Nederland up 2 to 0 at half

I guess KBH and Eagle91 are busy reading the rules of soccer in the soccer forum. It's ok, I'll take care of this one. Nederland wins 1 to 0. Your welcome!! -
Nederland wins on senior night. Final 8 to 1 Nederland clinched the outright district championship and look to make it a undefeated run in Dayton on 3-19. I've really enjoyed watching these seniors play. Best of luck moving forward the rest of the season and in life.

I was a little frustrated with the tie and spoke out of anger. The coaches have done a good job with the girls and have also done somethings I don't agree with but hey it's their team. I'm going to support my daughter and her friends regardless. This is a regional tournament team so we will see if we can get there.
-
First off, they didn't lose a game, they tied. Not going down this road again. I guess some people have a hard time comprehending. Game is in the history books, time to move on.

[Hidden Content] This pretty much sums it up. You can see the rules and district records. Hopefully this can clear things up for you and the parents you talked too. Enough said, it was a tie!!!! Thanks

I can assure you if Nederland won the shoot out, it would of been reported correctly as a tie and I would of posted it just like I did this one (Final 3 to 3). Nederland won the 1st match up 1 to 0 and there was barely a sentence of the win in the paper. Apparently there are several people that don't understand or know the agreement by the district before the season began. Take a look at the boys for example: Nederland boys tie PNG and lose in a shoot out. How was that reported? I will tell you, it was a tie. Both there records reflect this. I incourage you and others to take a look at max preps. They have the records reported correctly. Nederland is 9-0-1 and PNG 6-2-1 in district. Now, as I said before, if this were a playoff game this would be a win for PNG and loss for Nederland because a team has to advance to the next round. I'm sure there's going to be more confused people when district ends and the paper says Nederland out right undeafeated district champs.
