  1. Lol... I would expect a 5 star recruit to be able too. He has a very strange stance at the line. He is a lefty but he has his right foot slightly in front of his left foot like a right handed shooter would stand. Im sure they will fix that wherever he ends up.
  2. Winwin, I agree with you. I think Flagg is better right now. Jared needs to get stronger and improve on his free throws. I saw him air ball several free throws. I think Jared has a higher upside but if I had to choose one player for a game right now. I go with Flagg all day long.
  3. I wouldn't say that. Kelly has a good team and VP plays very lazy defense and they take very bad shots.
  4. Lol... I will not confirm or deny!
  5. You are correct! That's whats always been great about Jase, I don't have to tell him things to motivate him. He has always played with and works with a chip on his shoulder. He's the hardest working kid i know. Large in part of what you said and he's love for the game.
  6. Yes. They have a coach that's a good motivator and a good game planner. There pretty much getting everyone back from last year. I have them as the front runner in that district but pulling for my Dogs!!!
  7. But not many would put him above an Atwood or Pearson in terms of D1 basketball. But I hope he proves all the so-called experts wrong. I did.. lol I never really understood the recruiting thing. You have a kid like Jase who has been guarded (face guarded) by the D1 kids from the district (Boyd, Comeaux -Juco, TJ and Perason) and averaged 21pts a game but yet not good enough to get a call or anything from Lamar.(He did get a call from a couple D1 schools up north) Then your told he's not tall enough but then you watch other D1 schools and there full of 6ft 2" guards. Then you hear about defense not being good enough. To me, i would rather have a kid who can score and stretch the floor and teach him how to play the defense you want , rather then getting a kid who can play defense but yet not a scorer. IMO you cant teach someone how to be a scorer. Anyway off my soap box. Jase is really enjoying his time at SEU. It is a great fit for him and he's growing as a basketball player and a young man. Thanks for the kind words. He will continue to push himself and work on his game everyday to prove the na sayers wrong.
  8. Congratulations! Very good guy, he will do great things there.
  9. Good luck Jaylan!! Wishing you the Best!!
  10. Its all about educational needs and what's the best fit for Jase. He wants the opportunity to play and enjoy his college exsperience. There's over 500 kids a year that transfer from D1 to Div II or NAIA because lack of play. Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I am very proud of him.
  11. Nederland girls and boys both play Thursday @ Lamar. Girls at 6 Boys at 7
  12. Great post! I couldn't agree more. Brian is very infectious, he has a way of getting everyone to buy in (parents and players). He has had success everywhere he has coached. The man knows how to build a program. Period!
  13. Yes he does. Very lucky to have a good summer coach as well.
  14. Jase is my son and trust me, Jase and myself are very thankful English is his coach. Jase wouldn't want to play for anyone else or with anyone else. He has a very close bond with his coach and team mates.
  15. Yes, you are correct. That's what i meant. Thanks
  16. Congrats to BC and Lance. Lance and his assistants have done a great job.
  17. That's good stuff right there. Good for him and love the fact his team mates were pumped for him.
  18. They were there personal fold out seats not the bleachers.
  19. I can answer number 1 but not sure of question 2. If i remember correctly, i think there was a incident where some Nederland fans had there seats set up behind the Nederland bench and parents and kids from the other team just came and sat in there seats. They were asked nicely to move and they refused so cops had to get them to move. Also i would think this is to prevent other teams from heckling the coach and players right behind the bench. Other than that fans can sit where they choose. I personally have no issue with it.
  20. I heard someone say it was slightly torn and was given the green light to play. I pray he didn't make it worse. Prayers to him and his family.
  21. They are playing more as and team and the ball movement was very good tonight. Kevin Howard is coming on and he played very well tonight. Proud of all the boys. Still are some small things to clean up but headed in the right direction. Keep it going!
  22. I think it would be great to have a shot clock. If there would have been a shot clock during the Lincoln and Ozen champtionship days under coach Boutte. It could have been alot different. He was know for getting a lead and going to the 5 corners offense and chewing up the clock. When you have quick gaurds and no shot clock, you are forced to guard farther out. With a shot clock you can sit in your zone and make teams come to you. So depending on how you look at it, it can be an advantage for slower/less athletic teams.
  23. THATS A BOLD STATEMENT, BUT A TRUE STATEMENT. TRUTH HURTS!
  24. I AGREE, BIGFISH WAS A LITTLE BOLD ON HIS CHOICE OF WORDS. YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THESE ARE 12 YEAR OLD BOYS AND THEY MAY LOOK UNBEATABLE AT ONE TIME AND THEN LOSS TO A TEAM THEY SHOULD BEAT. HOWEVER THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT NEDERLAND WILL BE TOUGH TO BEAT THIS YEAR IN THE 12 YEAR OLDS. NOW AS FAR AS THE OTHER AGE DIVISON- BC AND GROVES WILL BE THE TEAMS TO BEAT.
