1. CLT...why are you going there...that really isn't very respectable on your part. I'll tell you the same thing I told someone in the boys thread...if you can do better...go apply for the job. I'm just really tired of all the bashing coaches get on here...we, as adults, should be better than that.
2. I agree. I think she has done a great job. However, I look at it like this. I thought HJ was going to win the district coming into the seasson. I know they lost a lot, but so did OF. Silsbee was not very good last year. I did not think there was a chance that they would make the playoffs. I think Coach Davis is a very good coach and did a very good job, I just believe the turn around in Silsbee was very impressive. Who would have picked Silsbee to be in the playoffs this year at the end of last year...probably no one if they were being honest. Who would have picked HJ to win the district...probably a lot if they were being honest. Great job by both coaches though.
3.
What needs to be addressed at HF is why are so many athletes not participating. It's not just a boys basketball program, it's a problem throughout varsity sports at HF. In football, we fielded what was substantially a half JV/Half varsity team in football because a lot of kids opted not to play. Look what happened. The same happened in boys and girls basketball. Both are way under average. There are girls missing from softball that could definitely help. Does this happen at every school? That I don't know, but it seems to be an epidemic here. We need to do something to get our best athletes on the field/court if we ever want to compete at anything.
I haven't seen a drop in HF girls sports. They seem to be very competitive in Basketball and Softball year in and year out. I don't know how long it had been since HF made the playoffs in girls basketball before last year (somone else might know) and they have tied for 3rd in district in softball the last two years...just lost the playin game both times. Are there girls missing that could contribute...probably so. But it seems to me the numbers have went down in basketball since soccer was added. I'm not saying soccer is a bad thing, but at such a small school there is so much going on...the girls can't play every sport. Why some kids aren't playing football, I don't know...you would have to ask them.
4. Coach of the year hands down in my book. Sorry HJ fans, but what he has done in Silsbee is very impressive.
5.

baseball, it's about grooming, investing and spending time with the talent you do have.  Not pointing a finger at any one person because it takes a village to raise a child and that same village to produce an athlete.  The community needs to invest in the athletes, the program needs to groom the athletes and the parents have to be willing to spend/take the time, money and effort to help the athlete determine which sport is right for them and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
mamma, well said...I made some of the same points in this forum and the OF vs HF forum and as someone else said alot of changes have to be made.  Hf has a coaching position posted on their website now that has been posted for at least a year...They are looking for a Coach/Math Teacher....HAHA....HF has to stop putting stipulations on coaching/teacher requirements....stop trying to get two for one....AD/Head Football Coach....it will be very difficult to hire a coach who is also a qualified math teacher.  That's why you wind up getting a qualified math teacher who may have played sports in high school and knows very little about what it takes to be a Coach or build a halfway decent program(in any sport)...Try hiring a COACH and hiring a MATH TEACHER if that's what you need.  We pay our taxes for that reason.
Why don't you go get a math degree? You seem like you know basketball better than all the coaches there. In all seriousness, if you live in HF and you have spoken to the coach like you said you have, quit bashing the program on here. Makes the community look bad. What subject do you suppose the coach teach? If you want teachers to teach and coaches to coach and people not doing both, your taxes would skyrocket. Support your school, even if you disagree with everything that's fine, but you can still show some support. Just my opinion though.
6. How many underclassmen does HF have playing up? I'm not familiar enough to know how many kids at HF that won in JH (from what has been said) are still playing basketball, but a lot of kids concentrate on particular sports by the time they are Sophomores or Juniors. Also, I don't think HF sports outside of football and basketball seem to be struggling. Haven't the boys in CC made regionals the past two years (I think they did this year but I can't remember), they send numerous kids to regionals in track every year, and their baseball program seems to be moving up. Just my thoughts.
7. Aggies, it's simple...you don't know me. I don't think you should say one thing about my wife. I know you were joking by saying exvolleyball coach must be my wife, but the reference you were making it in was a negative sense. You shouldn't say one thing about my family and you have attacked me on here...it's enough. You don't know me so you can't do it in fun until you know me. So it needs to end.
8. Aggies...you are crossing the line and it needs to end.
9. tjcfan08...I've been waiting to see if you. It's nice to have another volleyball person around. Are you talking about forming a club team with the top players from each school? Pros and Cons if that happened. HFfan5...I agree with you. And I always like to see HF do well because I think Coach Peltier is a very classy coach. Perhaps the classiest around here imo. Let's face it...the top four teams can beat up on each other next year just like this year, but HF and Silsbee have more holes to fill than BC and OF and that's why I put BC and OF 1 and 2. Four teams battling for 3 spots once again...watch out for that middle HF had playing on JV too. She could play.
10. Or maybe I'm not biased to any particular school and I see it how it is. You cannot honestly look at the top 4 teams and think it makes any since for Silsbee to be better than BC and OF next year. They weren't better than them this year and both teams return every starter and roll player except one. Silsbee loses three starters. Now...imo Janci (I think that's what you all said her name was) should have been starting instead of coming off the bench. However, I didn't see all of Silsbee's games but she was a lot more consistent than both outside hitters and one of the middles in the games I watched. Herself and Chelsea will be very good next year. But they have holes to fill just like other teams...but they have more holes than OF and BC. I know...I don't know volleyball according to you Silsbee people but you and the bleacher parents probably don't know the difference between a 6-2 and a 5-1 offense. Or the difference in a perimeter, rotational, or a combo of the defenses. Probably don't know what a shot set is or a 4,3,2,1,5 or slides or an A,B,C, or J. And you are the most disrespectful moderator on this site (if it's possible for you people to get fired...you should). You Silsbee people are all about Silsbee and I'm glad you back your school. But let's face it...most of you don't truly know volleyball. I made a life and living out of volleyball. I think I know the sport a little better than you. I'm sorry that you all got so upset because I didn't pick your beloved Silsbee to make the playoffs. It's my opinion. You three people that have attacked me, for no reason as far as I'm concerned, please tell me something about HF, OF, and BC that shows some volleyball intelligence. Tell me something about their players and who they have returning and how they are going to fill their holes and how Silsbee is going to pass up the three teams that were in front of them this year. Give me some insight since I know nothing and you all know everything.
11. Hey look Aggies...a correction that actually is correct. I'm sorry that at 12:30 this morning I typed the wrong thing. Let's just sit back and watch Silsbee dominate the rest of the season in every sport because I'm sure they will...just ask Aggie...he's the Albert Einstein of sports. He even knows more about volleyball than everyone else in the world. He probably even knows more than the coaches.
12. How long have they been in 21-3A...four years right? First year...Won district, next 2...split, last year...no playoffs. Might I add...both years they split they lost the play in game  :) But at least they were in the play in game.
13. Just listen to Aggies...don't you know he knows everything and he is never wrong and Silsbee is the best gift to the world!!!
14. You are right...I have no idea what I'm talking about.
15. Man...you all caught me. I don't know anything about the game. I guess all the scouting I did for years didn't teach me a thing. Any of you are welcome to come play volleyball with me anytime you want. Aggies...I believe you have said in the past you don't even watch volleyball. People quit being such homers and quit getting upset...pay attention to the teams that were there this year, the jv teams, the players teams lost and who they are returning. I don't know why you act like it's not a big deal.
16. As I stated before, if they have a setter coming up they will compete. I still don't know if HF and Silsbee can hang with OF and BC night in and night out next year, but you never know. And on any given night...anyone can win. I hope Silsbee plays like you and Robinhood believe...I think if they do, we will see another year like this year. Best district race I've ever seen.
17. Bleed...that's how I feel about Basketball...just playing. Volleyball around here is still a little slow paced...go watch the big schools around Austin, San Antonion, and Dallas play, you might think it's a little better than watching paint dry...haha
18. Silsbee split with OF and BC in district last year.  Silsbee also beat OF 2 out of 3 matches, once in the Vidor Tournament and split in district.  Silsbee got beat by BC 2-3 at BC but beat BC 3-0 at home.  That being said you've got be to a total moron to leave HF out of the mix in District 21-3A, That's what you said. Then you basically mocked me after predicting the district this year. I'm not going to go at it on here with anyone...let's be honest...you probably have or had a daughter play for Silsbee and I'm glad you back them so much. Fans should back their schools. I'm calling what I see and I've called it right the last two years. But I did miss the OF and BC play in game two years ago. Continue to back your school and your girls and we'll just see next year.
19. Wow...someone needs to calm down. First off...it doesn't matter what the records were...Silsbee DID NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!! I know it's hard for people from Silsbee to understand that...but they were out. I could sit a list all the reasons I think they will be playing for the 3rd spot next year but I'm not going to do that. Thanks for calling me a moron and letting me know that you can't comprehend what you read at times. I said the scenerio I was typing was without considering HF...I never said I was leaving them out of the district mix. They are who I pick to win 3rd. I have OF, BC, and HF. Oh and get your facts straight...OF lost in the first round, HF lost in the 2nd (not 1st) and they didn't get hammered. They lost in 5 games (were up 2-0). That's not getting hammered. And BC lost to the team that represented Region 3 in state. Was it a weak district this year, I think so, so what does that say about Silsbee who didn't make the playoffs and lost two or their top three players. Don't get too excited because I don't think Silsbee will be in it for the district championship. That's my opinion. And I'm sure they aren't the only school playing club. Just one question...are you a parent or someone playing?
20. How do you figure? Silsbee didn't even make the playoffs last year and they are losing very important positions. OF and BC both made the playoffs and both lost one player. They have varsity players that contributed a lot this year to fill the spots that are leaving. OF also easily had the best JV. I believe they were undefeated (Bobcat05 will know for sure). Robinhood quit being a homer and be realistic. Let's see...who's going to win district (this is without considering HF who's there every year)...either BC or OF who have the best two teams coming back OR a team who lost two very important players and didn't make the playoffs last year? You probably don't think I know anything about volleyball but I believe I sent Bobcat05 an email earlier this year before the season started ranking the district as HF,OF,BC,Silsbee...I would say that's not too bad.
21. Well with Volleyball if you make it to the State Tournament you are going to get looked at by colleges. Poth sends those tall girls they have to big schools all the time. You are also guarenteed to play. If you move to a big 4A or 5A school, you have to deal with the absolute best schools in the state. You aren't going to move to a school in 5A that is going to beat San Antonio Reagan, San Antonio O'Conner, or Amarillo. If the parents are wanting their child to play and win state...2A/3A is the best opportunity. Again...I say this if this is what's really happening. I've heard about it...don't know if anyone actually has proof.
22. Well if Silsbee can fill their holes, they could compete for the 3rd spot. I don't think anyone is going to do much to BC or OF unless they catch them on a bad night. Hands down...theoretically the best two teams coming back.
23. The difference is that you have (so the rumor has it) parents moving their kids in from bigger cities such as Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, etc. to build I guess what you would call an all-star team. It would be like taking the top two players or so from each one of our 3A a schools and combining them into one team. You get a lot better much quicker. It's not that the kids are playing club...it's that parents are moving to cities to build a team. If it's all true...can't do anything about it except try to get better yourself. For all I know...it could all be hearsay.
24. My fault...I thought the sophomore girl was her sister. They look a lot alike. Well then...they have Chelsea, the girl who was a sophomore this year at either middle or outside next year (depending on where Coach Leach wants to put her). The main thing for them is do they have a setter hidding somewhere that can run the team?
25. Silsbee's scenerio...They have the two Neely girls...will they have anyone to set the balls to them? If so, they could make a run at the 3rd spot, if not...outside again. I hear a lot about how much better BC got throughout the year...weren't they 4-1 the first 5 games of district and 3-2 the second 5? I'm just saying. They have a very good coach and some very good athletes. The loss of Kosh is a big loss but I believe their passing will be much better next year and that will make it much easier for the two setters that will be playing (the are good setters as well). OF loses one senior and is returning a lot of really good talent. I believe their JV team was undefeated in district as well. They have the girls on J.V. that can fill the shoes. Their backrow next year will be the best in the district, assuming that j.v. libero is up and the libero they had last year is healthy after missing this year. Don't be suprised if you see Rylie win MVP of the district next year. HF lost a lot but the always have the talent coming up. Every year people write them off and every year they prove people wrong. So I'm sure their coaching staff will put together another strong team and they will be okay. Question is...will there be any newcomers to the district?
