How is this the 1st time in history PNG has had a good defense? I haven't been around for long, but in 99 their defense was pretty stout. Along with a great offense.

She's by far the best in this area...perhaps the best I have personally ever seen in this area. Just a question here...is volleyball your #1 sport? And I personally do think that BC's number 3 setter (not sure of her name or number) is going pretty decent and will be pretty good next year.

Great season...great season.

Unless there is upset tomorrow with HJ beating HF or WOS beating BCor Tuesday with BC losing to HJ...if Silsbee loses they will be out. But...they play the games for a reason. I want OF to win but I feel like Silsbee has been playing better volleyball. Silsbee in 4. I hope I'm wrong.

Haven't seen Neely play this year. Pitcher...sorry to offend you but the 3 BC games I have watched she has set absolutely great. I see no sets too far out. A outside hitter should almost be at the antenna when they are hitting a 4. I've seen their outside hitters come in too far and have to reach across their body to hit. Not the setters fault. If you call a 4...be in the right spot. The only reason I've seen girls slow their armswing down was because they were roll shoting to short angle or in front of short angle. I also don't consider the setter having to run all over the court the best passing it has ever been. Her middles are constantly coming in too quick or late or passing her up when they run quicks...she's adjusting to where they can at least get a touch on it. I have yet to see any hitter take over a game time after time after time this year (haven't seen Silsbee play) but I have seen Kosh be the reason the hitters can at least have an attempt to do something with the ball. Again I'll add...I've only seen three games, I'm haven't seen every game. Perhaps you have, if so, then you a lot more opportunities to make an analysis. However, I bet if you asked Coach Matthews where they would be without Kosh...you would get an answer something along the lines of not in the playoff hunt. BC has a good young teams and they will continue to be dangerous next year.

I'm definately not counting them out, but I don't think they match up very well against Silsbee and they play HF at HF. They have a tough road. I picked BC, OF, and HF to be the three playoff teams at the beginning of the year so I hope they do beat Silsbee...haha. This has just been a great season. Thank you to all the young ladies.

yeah...the game between OF and Silsbee means so much for 4 teams. That game is either going to set the 3 playoff teams or give us a possibility for a 4 way tie

That's a lot of possible schools dropping...and big name schools. Does the drop look the same from 5A to 4A? If not...is it possible they don't raise the numbers at all? Have the numbers ever dropped or stayed the same from one realignment to another?

BC is probably going to end up at 7-3. So I think Silsbee beats OF and HF beats OF. I also think Silsbee and HF win their other game. 1st H-F (8-2) 2nd BC and Silsbee (7-3) Playoff game goes to Silsbee seeding Silsbee 2nd and BC 3rd. HF and BC meet in the 3rd round of the playoffs and if Silsbee gets by Tarkington in the playoffs (I think they would play in the 3rd round)...they could be playing in the regional finals. All girls will be battle tested and ready for the playoffs.

Royal is a very good player. However, Kosh is making great sets off not great passing. The BC hitters are getting great chances off mediocre passes (I'm not saying BC is a bad passing team...I'm saying Kosh is turning the so-so passes into great hitting opportunities). I believe BC started off in a 6-2 this year and now I believe they are running a 5-1. I don't know how long it's been since a setter has been MVP...but I think Kosh deserves it. Just my opinion.

It's going to be a good game. Will the young Orangefield girls be able to handle the pressure? The BC girls have been here before last year. I'm going to go with the upset pick. BC in 4. Tomorrow is a great night...HF is at Silsbee.

What are PNG's Harmon's rushing stats for the season?

I think Vidor is a good team...but from your post it seems like they are getting stopped more and more as the weeks go on and they don't really pass the ball so their total yards are right around there too. Only 3 more hours.

Tough call...if Silsbee plays the way they can, they are really tough to beat. BC has played very well in Silsbee since Matthews has been coaching there. I say BC in 5.

Teams come back from a 2-0 deficit all the time. I see it at least 4 or 5 times a year in this area. It's not that rare. I'll say it again...if you can coach better...then go do it. Why are people on here bashing coaches...especially ones that have BUILT a program. That coach in purple and white has over 900 wins...I think she can stay as long as she wants too.

Has nothing to do with 8 starters out with injuries and a team full of sophomores playing? The young kids are getting great experience for the future. They lost a lot last year...if you were paying attention you knew this was going to be a tough year. I don't know anything about the coach...I'm just saying what I've been seeing over the past years.

When a coach builds a program...he or she can stay as long as she wants. I'm assuming you are talking about a midcounty program that isn't purple and white. I don't know much about the coach except she has won won won until the past two to three seasons...and they were very young last year. If you care that much...go get a degree and take her spot.

I know everyone keeps saying PNG hasn't played anyone but I just have a question. I know Vidor beat Lumberton but who else have they beat? Has Lumberton beat any good teams this year? I think this time in the year if you have a good record who cares who you are playing...you are winning ball games and building confidence.

True about BC...the problem is that senior is IMO the best setter in the district. However, they are having a good year and I'm sure they will continue next year. They have a very good coach.

A lot of smaller schools have girls who do multiple things during the fall. I completely agree that it is unfair to the other three lady mustangs. However, what if we look at the flip-side. Wouldn't the girls also not be honoring their commitment if they didn't cheer or dance. The problem is they have two commitments at the same time. Does WO-S not have a JV team where they can pull-up players? I'm not saying it would be pretty, but hey, they would have to play. Also, couldn't the girls leave the game by 5:30 or 6:00 and be at the football game by halftime? Seems like a very tough situation for the girls and I wish there was something that could be done so there would not be a forfeit.
